341ml single bottle. A hopped-up Canadian craft lager? Hook it up to my veins!

This beer pours a rather hazy, medium tarnished golden amber hue, with two fingers of puffy, rocky, and foamy dirty white head, which leaves some severely pocked painted lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of bitter orange and white grapefruit citrus rind, biscuity, grainy malt, a twinge of lemon juice, and further strong, bitter leafy hops. The taste is more grainy, bready, and biscuity malt, with a barely restrained bitter leafy, citrus peel, and floral hoppiness. Hmmm...so few words, for so much flavour.

The carbonation is decently supportive and non-intrusive, the body an appropriate medium-light weight, and just as smooth, sort of. It finishes off-dry, with a still strong bitter hop arbiter for the latter.

A quite agreeable hop forward lager, the underlying malt not lost in the mire, thankfully, and full flavour permeating the whole shebang. Well worthy of investigating some multiple and unencumbered indulgence, if I may say so.

Pours light amber. Finger of head settles pretty quickly to a nice film.

This might be a tad cold, but I only get a vague sweetness on the nose, a bit of honey and a hint of floral hops.

Great flavours though. Bittering hops up front, nice blend of citrus and restrained pine, overlaid on biscuity malt. Sulphur and nice floral notes in the finish, really satisfying.

A great session lager, would like to see it general list at the LCBO, though I always wonder about the size of the market for well hopped lagers.

341ml bottle, from the brewery

Nice bright golden body - big frothy white head - classic looking lager. Aromas of grassy hops, a touch of lemon and citrus. Flavor profile follows suit - crackery malt, lemon, grass, citrus. Dig a nice lager - this is pretty solid.

A - a clear bright copper, thumb of off white head retained very nicely with random lacing
S - plenty of light hoppy notes of perfume, citrus, and pepper, light dry crackers in the background
T - peppery and leafy hops, followed by significant cracker grainy maltiness creating good balance, very light perfume, definitely balanced and tasty
M - light and smooth, just a touch of dryness, crisp and easy to chug
O - a hoppy lager turns out to be a great idea in this case, super drinkable with enough hop flavour to satisfy both my beer geek and beer chugging personalities

Considering all of the glitz and glam one might associate with the name, this beer is pretty tame...not a lot of flash bulbs going off in my mind. None the less, a decent brew that shouldn't be avoided. Amber in colour, subtle flavour of hops, which is nice if you plan on having 2 or 3.

Bottled on C2613. March 26, 2013? Poured in to tulip.

A - Translucent light orange/amber colour with half a finger of cream coloured head.

S - Floral and herbal hop aromas with some caramel sweetness. English IPA nose.

T - Moderate bitterness for the style. Floral and herbal hop flavours with a decent caramel malt backbone providing sweetness.

M - Medium body. Sticky. Moderate carbonation.

Appearance - Gold and quite hazy. Thin white head that quickly dissipates.

Smell - Light pale malt.

Taste - A heavier than expected dose of pale malt followed by prominent hoppiness. Malt is surprisingly rich - grainy and bready, even a hint of caramel. Hops provide some grass and orange citrus. Very nice.

Mouthfeel - Light-medium and crisp.

Overall - Niagara Falls is by no means a craft beer mecca. This was available and pretty good.

A good beer. Not as balanced as others.
