A: The beer is very close to being jet black in color—traces of dark red are visible at the bottom of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that died down, leaving a patch of bottle in the center of the glass and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lactose are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of lactose and has notes of dark malts and a little sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems a little lighter in body compared to most other milk stouts, but the light body nature makes it go down easily.

Tastes almost identical to Left Hand Milk Stout. Had mine in a nitro bottle. Poured jet black with a cascade effect which developed a half-inch sustainable creamy head. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, almost cloying taste with lactose, cocoa, and roasted malts being the most prominent characteristics.

Appearance- Pours a dark cola brown with a finger of frothy mocha head.

Smell- roasted malts, chocolate, nuttiness, and hint of dark fruit.

Taste- Similar to the aromas, with the roasted malts and chocolate taking centre stage with the nuttiness coming through in the end with a slight hint of dark fruit. Drinks like a porter rather than a stout.

Mouthfeel- Medium to full bodied with light carbonation.

Overall- A milk stout that is weak in its delivery. Drinks more like a porter than a stout. This brew has elements there but needs to go back to the drawing board to make it more true to the milk stout style.

Found a six-pack at Oak & Vine on 16th avenue in Calgary. Also currently available in Parallel 49 mixed packs for winter. I have a soft spot for milk stouts so grabbed this one immediately. Pours a dark brown to black with reddish highlights, topped with a decent amount of mocha colored head. Aroma is immediately smoky and lactic sour with a little yeasty funk, biscuit malt, and yet very sweet like a mocha latte. Tastes of malted milk, chocolate, burnt caramelized sugar, and blonde roast coffee with hints of red berry. The smoky, almost peaty aroma carries over onto the palate. Very creamy and smooth as one would expect but perhaps too much carbonation, an issue I sometimes encounter with this brewery. A solid drinkable milt stout with the requisite sweetness and creamy body. Contains too much black malt ... Quite smoky and burnt, a plus in other stouts but a (minor) fault here.

appearance - look's really thin and silky for a stout & has a little thin layer of head as well i love the little bubble's in my glass.

smell - not too much going on here you could generally smell what a stout would smell like.

taste - was what i expected a nice creamy balance of chocolate and coffee notes. the alcohol was well hidden in this 5% beverage. the after taste was very creamy wich is what i expect from a milk stout.

mouthfeel - this beer is very easy to drink my glass only lasted a couple of minutes because im a stout drinker. Almost feel's like i stuck of bar of Aero's in my mouth and let it melt.

overall - 13 dollar's for a 6 pack this beer is interesting as it's a milk stout wich can make it more creamy but stout drinkers might want a little more flavor were this one was more well rounded with chocolate, coffee and milk.
