A: Pours a crystal clear, deep dark oak or chestnut colour with 2 fingers of white foamy head. Head settles to a layer that covers the surface with minimal lacing.
S: Caramel malts and dark honey, black cherry. Finishes with grassy notes together with yeasty bread.
T: Sweet malts at the front of caramel and dark honey. Slightly grassy and earthiness with a mild lingering bitter finish. Very well balanced.
M: Medium bodied with a slightly syrupy feel that coats well. Low to medium carbonation.
O: Reminds me a good traditional brown ale with some hop presence that balances extremely well. A solid every day "comfort food" beer that I could see myself having on a usual basis. Is too bad that this is just a one off but I am glad I was able to pick up a few.

650ml bottle bought at Viti, Seymour St, Vancouver. $7.40 + deposit.
Sells for $5.50 + deposit at BC Liquor Stores... if you can still find it.
Brown, red when held to light, decent amount of tan head. Smell: grassy hops, maybe a hint of citrus, yeast, some sweetness. Taste: bitter but not overly so, grassy, bread, a touch of caramel, all very balanced. Very drinkable. Delicious! Too bad this is limited edition and not available year-round.

Considering this was the first beer brewed by James of Storm Brewing which makes it a early historic BC brew , I really loved the fact you can taste the time needed to make this beer ( double decotation). It tastes like a proper Alt which is a style not easily found in BC. The malt profile is complex and the hops are in balance for the style. Someone needs to make a year round Alt beer for BC.

A: Brown liquid with excellent clarity topped by a 1" tan coloured head.
S: Caramel, toffee, pears, grass, flowers, biscuits and bread.
T: Bread, biscuits as well as noble hop flavours of grass, earth and flowers.
M: Very dry with a medium level of carbonation and viscosity.
O: Probably more bitter than it needs to be, nonetheless I really enjoyed the malt profile of this beer.
