A: Pours a clear deep caramel with 2-3 fingers of white head which quickly dissipates leaving a singular row of bubbles around the ring of the glass with no lacing.

S: Sweet malts and rock candy supported by mild hops. Notes of grapefruit, grass and cucumber. Slightly creamy floral notes in the background.

T: Upfront notes of sweet malts and toasted brioche together with midrange hoppy bitterness, clean earthyness and mild alcohol esters.

M: Light to medium light mouthfeel with low carbonation. Alcohol is fairly well hidden.

O: This is a extremely approachable, inviting and sessionable beer that will easily pair with many meals. Straightforward in its approach without taxing the palate this is an easy drinker.

Appearance- Pours a copper colour with half a finger of bubbly white head.

Smell- Biscuity malts, toasted grains, raisin, plum.

Taste- Hit right away with the biscuity malts then the toasted grains, raisin, and plum. There is a nice cohesiveness with the flavours.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall- A enjoyable brew with nice cohesive flavours. Another winner from Parallel 49.

This is a very smooth version of the style though not the most nuanced version . The nose is quite fruity with the rose coming through a bit. There is a bit of a lager flavour to the beer mostly due to use of a lager yeast. This beer finishes a little sweet which is ok for the style but I would have liked a little more funkiness in the beer.

Label: "This effervescent ale is a complex, malty style traditionally brewed in the Nor-Pas-De-Calais region in Northern France. We've combined it with subtle rose water for one dashing beer. This looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

21.5 IBUs.

A: Amber liquid with excellent clarity topped by 1/4" cream coloured head that dissipated quickly and settled to the edges of the glass.

S: Flowers (yes the roses do come through), grass, cereal, and biscuit.

T: Cereal, biscuit, digestive cookies, grass. Quite sweet. Some floral presence near the end.

M: Very smooth. Medium to low level of fine carbonation and a somewhat syrupy medium viscosity.

O: Very drinkable and tasty. More smooth and less sharp than some others of the style.
