Parallel 49 and Ninkasi? Bring it on! I'm not a lager fan, but love me some rye =)

Appearance: Dark brown, with a nice off white head. Can definitely see the impact the rye is having on the color. (hmmm spent too long in Canada, I mean colour!)

Smell: Rye spice and a citrusy hoppiness. yum

Taste: Really rye forward, with a tropical hoppiness. Very tasty brew.

Mouthfeel: light, with a little slickness in the finish.

Overall. A thumbs up, which is a rarity for me and lagers. The rye is such a large part of this beer, and a good level of hoppiness all add up to a happy camper.

A lager brewed with rye in the mash this is a collab with Ninkasi from Oregon. Pours a reddish brown with a real rye nose to start proceedings. The taste is a bohemian lager crossed with a lot of rye. The dry graininess works with the style and makes it very food friendly. Some may find the rye content a little much but I liked for the uniqueness that it added to the beer.
