A new, small little place just north of Sloan's Lake. Former car service shop now serving English influenced beer.

Perhaps seats about 30 people, a little 'porch' area up front. Small bar area.

Looks like about 5 CO2 taps and 2-3 cask hand pumps. All English style, although the CO2 beers are very cold.

Service is friendly and prompt. Variety of sizes of serving vessels; 10oz-growlers.

No food, but food truck arrived just as we were leaving. A solid place. Great neighborhood hangout that serves above average beers with nice variety

This is a very cool brewery in an old gas station/garage that has been renovated quite nicely. They don;t serve food but they do have locally baked pretzels for $3 which are great to munch on. There are always several cask offerings which are my favorite as well as several keg beers. Beers are all English style and pretty well made. Service is fine and the atmosphere always seems friendly and inviting. A nice neighborhood brewpub.

A-Hogshead has a small seating space and a small-ish to medium sized patio in a nice, semi-urban neighborhood northwest of downtown Denver. The building is obviously a converted service station, complete with garage doors, but the space feels comfortable in its modern, psuedo-industrial decor. Although the brews tend towards English pub style, there are lots of windows and this is no dark wood and cigar smoke type of joint. Seating is pretty limited and it mostly works.

Q-The brews are homemade and tasty. I tried three variants (the pale mild ale, strong ale, and bitter) and enjoyed both the porter and pale, the later of which was on cask. The place specializes in English-style ales and they seem to have figured it out with the examples that I tasted. The cask variants were especially well-done.

Ser-The service on this post-Thanksgiving Black Friday was decent, but not great. The guys behind the bar the beer were pretty knowledgeable regarding their goods, but they did not seem all that enthused to be there and they were a bit slow.

Sel-The place did not have any guest taps or bottles (that I was aware of, anyway), but they were pouring five different Hogshead brews, two of which were available on keg and cask. On the day I visited, they had a mild pale, a strong ale, a bitter, a porter, and one other variety that I can't remember. They would not fill growlers of cask ale or anything above 9% ABV. Unfortunately, they ran out of one beer (a barleywine) right when we arrived. Thus, the selection was small, but I did not come here expecting 500 beers on tap, so I guess I would say that the selection was average-ish, with a good spread of styles.

F-I did not eat anything as they don't serve food, but the big pretzels they had behind the bar looked tasty...and the mustard looked good too.

V-The beers were moderately priced. My cask pint and half-pint were in-line to just above average for a small brewery in Denver.

O-I'm glad I visited, and the vibe here was pretty "you-get-what-you-see," but not being a being English ale guy, I don't know how often I will make it back.

A random afternoon stop - small and non-descript. A nice patio with picnic tables and a crucial outdoor cork dartboard that can aid in erasing a few hours of your life really easily.

All offerings were of surprisingly high quality - Maybe 6 beers on tap and 3 on cask. I had all of the cask beers, and then I had them all again. They offer full pints and also 10oz pours. All cask ales were dry hopped with a different varietal and were beyond easy to consume. I wasn't leading the itinerary, but this was a welcomed stop I'd likely have never sought out on my own.

The interior was playing the Pixies, Smiths, and the like.

i typed "brew" into our GPS en route to yak and yeti up in arvada. it showed this place, and it was only a few miles out of the way so we went to check it out. who knew this was even here? apparently new in june, it isnt online really at all, and ive never heard of it. cool little place, looks brand new, lots of windows and picnic table style seating inside. its not big, but its full on a thursday evening. 5 beers on tap, but one is out, and a cask selection. english style brews mostly on tap, a few milds, and esb, and a summer ale. the london porter i had was pretty good, not great. the beers were rather generic i thought, not standout, but were not bad at all, especially keeping in mind how new this place is. service was friendly and prices were fair, 5 bucks for an english pint. my guess is that this place catches on, it was well busy in there, and apparently they have plans to expand with a deck. overall good experience and will be back to see how it evolves. they could stand some better marketing though, no visibility at all in the denver beer scene.
