Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass. Bottle says enjoy by 09/14/14.
Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a lot of bubbles. Big three finger white head with good retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing.
Smell: A crisp and very juicy hop forward aroma with lots of citrus esters. Upfront scent of tropical citrus hops with hints of mango, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, and peach. Earthy hints of grassy hops and slight pine. Backing pale malt with hints of grains, cracker, and yeast. A pretty solid tropical aroma.
Taste: Like the smell hints at, a nicely juicy and crisp hop forward taste with pretty good tropical fruit esters. Citrus hops with upfront tropical notes of mango, lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, and peach. Earthy and floral hop notes with some grass and a little pine. Solid soft pale malt backing with notes of grains, yeast, and cracker. Hoppy but nicely balanced. A pretty good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, and very smooth.
Overall: A pretty good twist on a IPA. Really solid tropical fruit notes with a nice malt balance.

Pale golden color with a slight haze. One finger of head forms that settles to a thin film. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass.
I love the aroma of the hops used. But a couple of the varieties are a bit polarizing. I pick up tropical fruit, lemons, grass, citrus, and dankness.
Nice hop flavor combined with a dry malt character, makes me really like this beer. Bitterness is moderate with a good hop flavor payoff. I het tropical fruit, lemons, and citrus. A slightly dank finish.
A little lighter body than most IPAs at this ABV level. Quite surprised by the ABV. Nice carbonation lends a nice texture for a bitter beer. Lively without being harsh.
Hard to find very drinkable IPAs at this price point. Maybe that explains why this beer has replaced Saga as my budget IPA.

A couple of good reviews on here lead to this, plus a good price point. Poured into SA glass quite nicely.
Enjoyable fruity aroma with a prominent tropical fragrance, plus additional fruity and citrus qualities. Really quite a pleasant presentation.
More yellow than amber. Smallish white head and not a lot of stickiness, but fine overall.
Flavor not quite a good as aroma, but still nice. Thin streak of hop excess, but it never is too much or overwhelming. Hop flavors are not quite as interesting as in the aroma, but this drink nicely and balance out well. A bit of citrus in the taste and maybe catching that lemon drop taste.
Moderate size and average to a little above in carbonation.
This drinks way too quickly and nicely for the size. This could be a bit dangerous.

First review of Spotlight lots of pressure. Came to me in a pale golden color and light. Clear all the way through, looks refreshing. Wasn't getting much from the nose a bit of grass and orange peel definitely wasn't overwhelming had a very subtle smell to it. Taste was similar to the smell lots of grass with a little bit of grapefruit to round out the beer. Not much bitterness to speak of. Not much on the whole to speak of the either. The taste and nose were very underwhelming.
I've yet to find a Third Street beer to really hit the mark with me so far.

12 oz. bottle dated Best By Sept. 21, 2014. Poured into a shaker pint with a finger of creamy off-white head that quickly dissipates. Hazy, bright orange body. Thin but sticky layers of lacing left on the glass.
Very citrusy IPA. Grapefruit, orange peel, and a ton of lemon. Floral and grassy with a bit of resin as well.
Flavor is very hop-forward, but the lemony Sorachi Ace dominate more than in the nose, with a spicy floral flavor behind it. Slight breadiness in the background to give it a bit of a body. There's quite a few fruity flavors in there, but they all fail to match the weight of the lemon. Dry, slightly tart finish. Very little perceived bitterness.
Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Nice crisp, refreshing beer with a fruity but slightly dry finish.
Overall, this is a good beer. Very hop-forward IPA, but not particularly bitter. Sorachi Ace has such a distinguishable flavor that isn't really my thing in an IPA, but I could see others really liking it. It's too bad Third Street only has this as a seasonal considering the amount of hopheads in the local market.
