Had on draft in St. Joseph, MN, at Bello Cucina.

A: clear, dark straw color; very creamy head; no carbonation; good lacing
S: smells a bit skunked; yeast, no hops in the aroma
T: thin-bodied; bitter, not sweet; straw-like flavor; alack, are there no finishing hops in this beer?

Not a very good pale ale. I had better success that evening with the Wisconsin-bred Unforgiven (Rush River)

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A: Deep golden, slightly hazy. Medium caronation

S: Hops; mostly citrus, a small amount of pine. A little thin on the nose but pleasant.

T: Grapefruit, some malt after a second or two. Finishes with some pine and a little bit of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied, maybe a little more carbonation than some would like in an APA but since I don't mind a little fizz, it worked for me.

Overall: I've had a few better APA's but I've definitely had worse. With a 5.2 ABV and a full but not demanding flavor, this is definitely sessionable. A good example of the style and a good offering from Third Street.

This beer came on tap in a pint glass. It was clear gold in colour, and had citrusy and spicy hop notes with a hint of malt. The beer tasted sweet from the malts, but was mostly distinguished by its bitty and spicy hop flavors. This beer seemed good and blended; not overwhelming or too bitter. No distinguishable lingering flavors or aftertaste.

Would I buy this beer again? Probably.

Prying off the cap releases an earthy hop nose with traces of light fruit, biscuit and faint caramel. The beer pours hazy gold under a ½” off-white quickly dissipating foam cap that produces delicate lace. The attack starts malty, fruity and nutty. Orange and lemon flavors grow by mid-palate leading to a citrusy hop finish with a touch of herbal dryness that is almost astringent. Medium body and carbonation.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.

Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy copper golden orange with a lot of bubbles. About two fingers of off white head with decent retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A well balanced aroma of floral and citrus hops with bready caramel malts. Hoppy upfront with floral, herbal, and earthy hop hints with some grass. Light hints of piney hops. Hints of citrus orange, grapefruit, and lemon. Bready malt balance with hints of biscuit, grains, caramel, toffee, yeast, and cracker. A fairly typical and solid American Pale Ale aroma. Good balance.

Taste: Taste follows the nose, a well balanced mix of earthy and citrus hop flavors with bready malts. Hops upfront with tasting notes of earthy grass along with floral and herbal resin notes. Citrus hop notes of orange peel, grapefruit, and lemon. Bready toasted malts with notes of grains, biscuit, caramel, toffee, crackers, and yeast. Juicy and a very balanced taste. Solid for the style.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fairly juicy, creamy, and very smooth. Finishes dry.

Overall: A solid take on the APA style. Has the balanced hop and malt presence you expect from the style.

Smallish white head quickly settles to a 1/4" froth above a clear honey golden colored beer.

Light citrus light aroma that leans slightly towards sour lemons, but really not much aroma at all.

Light citrus taste, the lemon seems to be gone that was in the aroma, with what I think is a slight maltiness coming through as well.

A very light dryishness to the aftertaste of this medium bodied beer.

This pale ale is on the lighter side but it's still a pretty decent beer to be drinking during Sunday football.

Clear golden color with just over one finger of head that had decent retention before settling to a thin cap. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass.

Weak aroma but is pleasant with hops giving off notes of tropical fruit and citrus. Also some grainy malt.

Good flavor as well but it is not going to blow anyone away. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavor with a nice dry malt base. Bitterness seems high for an APA but manageable. Finishes slightly bitter and dry.

Solid body and carbonation.

Pretty good drinker. Especially for a $7 six pack. I will definitely drink more of it.
