The wife and I spent a few days in Bend in the last week... I had this brew on tap some times and took the last "mini-growler" home to share with the geeks.

At Crux, the brew is hazed orange with a long lasting head... lacing to the bottom of the glass.

Nose is very VERY good... citrus zest and tropical fruits...

Oily pithy citrus that is somehow balanced with a light pale malt on the palate...

One of the best Pale Ale's I've had probably ever.... and definitely makes me want to pay attention to the good folks out west.

On nitro tap @ The Growler Run

Hazy golden orange with a creamy, thick off white head.

Fruity, melon notes with a light malty backbone and a creamy, foamy body.

A delicious NW-IPA, with the nitro tap a fun and tasty addition.

Served on tap into a pint glass.

A- Poured a unique blood orange color with off-white frothy head that left splashy lace.

S- A big artificial fruity pebbles aroma, some unique citrusy notes, and lots of malt sweetness.

T- Big fruity pebble notes, some blood orange notes, and a really sweet, prominent malt backbone.

M- Some prickly carbonation, a little more full bodied for a pale ale, some alcohol warming, and mostly dry.

O- A pale ale with Citra and Centennial hops seemed like a safe bet for me, but the malt backbone was a little too sweet and prominent for me. Some of the flavors were really nice, but the sweetness made it more of a sipper for me.

Poured on nitro which brought down the bitterness although had a nice hop aroma. Easy drinking highly recommend.
