Had from bottle poured into snifter.

Appearance: Pour a light amber into the glass, with a large white foamy head that dissapates nicely to form great lacing and a cap that stays on throughout the tasting.

Smell: Get a wonderful fragrance of grapefruit and orange citrus, with a smooth integration of some pine and skunk weed as the glass warms.

Taste: The flavor profile follows the smell to the letter as the hops come in. A spectacular balance of sweet malts that completely come together to form a really smooth Imperial IPA. The piney flavors interact nicely with the malts, never letting one take over the other completely. Never get even a hint of the 10% ABV.

Mouthfeel: Very nicely done with a smooth, almost creamy character. The carbonation plays well, leaving a wonderful clean finish to an amazingly complex beer.

Overall: Makes me want to enjoy other mosaic hoped beers, however doubtful I am that they will be this good. I am alway impressed with Crux Fermentation Project, and the have definitely done it again. (1,033 characters)

375mL (bottled 1/6/2014) into a tulip. Pours a hazy straw color w/ a 1-finger frothy white head.

Aroma is big sweet tropical citrus, like a freshly cut grapefruit. Must be the Mosaic talking. Nice and pungent and clean.

Taste is likewise full and flavorful, with lots of pale malt evident on the first sip to balance all those juicy hops. The hop bitterness is somewhat subdued, with more focus on their bright clean citrusy character. High ABV is well hidden.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, actually pretty chewy. Slick.

Overall a really nice DIPA that knocks you down with pure flavor. More drinkable than a lot of high-ABV DIPAs. (633 characters)

12.7 oz bottle, bottled on 2/11/14. Pours hazy yellow orange with a small white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is musty stinky hops with some onion and garlic and a little vomit.

The flavor is sweet sugary malts with some vegetal spicy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, this was not good. Overly sweet with a lot of stinky onion and garlic and a little vomit. (440 characters)

Bottled on 3/23/15.
Poured a nice clear golden copper color with a half inch white head that quickly receded to a thin film that left some nice lacing.
The aroma on this beer was huge! Tropical fruits and a slight hint of grapefruit were noticeable right away, with some subtle wild onion smells and flowers in the background.
The flavor was outstanding, with tropical fruit favors very dominant. There was a slight sweetness and some sweet spiciness, like a spice cake flavor as well.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a very clean finish.
Overall, this was an outstanding IIPA, I've not had anything from Crux before, but if this is an indication of the quality of their offerings, I'll definitely be buying more in the future. (732 characters)

'Fruity' finish, not as bitter as expected (for an IPA). Would drink again. (75 characters)

32oz grenade from the tin bucket in Portland, split

Peachy-orange body - big aromas of melon, grapefruit, booze. The mosaic trend is getting a bit out of control (i'll take my straight Citra back, please) - this "single-hop" beer was just OK i thought. The alcohol wears a banana suit - you can't miss it. Melon, sugary bitter citrus, skunk, a touch metallic. (360 characters)
