A: Poured from the growler into a pint glass. Body is slightly hazy honey-amber with a small whitish head.

S: Florally hops over bready malt.

T: Lemony bitterness and citrus over bread doughy malt. Some earthy spiciness as well.

M: Light-to-medium in heft with modest carbonation.

O: Good stuff. An easy drinker, fits the bill for a tasty but light APA.

Sample from the brewery.

Brilliant copper hue, lacing showboats on the glass. Smells of fresh clementines, evergreen, papaya, white tea, birch bark, ruby red grapefruit pith and some breadiness. Deep smoothness, citrus rind and a weigh-in of the moderate sized body to start. Very hop forward, even the brewer states that this could be an IPA of sorts. Assertive bitterness but not devastating a whole lot of hop flavor to comb through ... not a chore but sheer enjoyment. Some maltiness peeks through with mild bready, nutty and even a faint caramel tone. Fruity with suggestions of grapefruit, pineapple guava and blood oranges. Very hoppy and somewhat bitter dry finish.

Amazing to say the least, this is a serious session brew here ... I could easily drink this all day long. If you are a true hop head then you'll want to hunt this one down.

On draft at Tap and Barrel, Smithtown, NY.

Poured a hazy amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a light caramel and leafy hop spice.

The taste consisted of soft caramel, crackers and a lingering leafiness.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style with a nice lingering bitterness.

Overall a very flavorful session ale.

Outstanding color, aroma, froth, flavor and texture.

I took a growler home two weeks ago, put it in a cold garage and it just got better with time. The strong but mild hoppy flavor and aroma are extraordinary, kind of like George Washington, who slept about 500 yards from the Newburgh Brewing Company. The ABV is 7.1%, which will produce a founding father's grade buzz which is great if you want to forget that you have wooden teeth.

I'm not sure what magical, mystical wizardry it's brewer, Chris Basso is employing, but it sure doesn't taste like extracts, and if they are using them, well, then I'll pay for the 400cc's Dr. Sizemore!

In point of fact, for you beer geeksters, after fetching the back story and specs from their website just now, it looks like they are using the following hops : Phoenix, East Kent Goldings, Fuggles, Sovereign, Styrian Goldings, Whole Leaf East Kent Goldings (via our hopback); dry-hopped using Phoenix and Sovereign.

Outstanding beer.

On tap at New World Home Cooking, Saugerties, NY.

Pale brass with creamy white head.
Light citrus and floral nose with some fresh baguette flesh.
Saltines up front with piles of bright tangerine hops.
Real IBU kick to end.
Crisp, light to medium, slight chew.

Clean and citrussy. Lagunitas-like with the hops. Shocked to see the IBUs (60) at this strength with no loss of body, so that bumps the Overall.

Appearance: The amber colored liquid has an inch of foam sitting on top that leaves a few dribbles of lacing behind

Smell: Piney and very pithy

Taste: As in the smell. the pith and pine dominate the flavor profile, with the malt just providing a platform for the hops to display their goods

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Very refreshing - love to see a full-flavored low ABV beer like this
