Unfortunately, I had this aged a year, and I do not know how it would taste fresh. That being said, it was very enjoyable. I just wish there was more chocolate in it for something calling itself an imperial chocolate milk stout.

Some nice milk chocolate notes in the nose with subtle hints of coffee and a strong whiff of roasted malt character.

Flavor is the same as the smell minus the chocolate. The toasted malt and coffee vie for presence to make a nice, subtly sweet brew that screams balance

Pours a beautiful black with a thin caramel head. Mouthfeel is nice and full and more- than-medium thickness

In a snifter the beer was black in color with just a rim of head.

Roasted malt aroma. Cream. Fairly boozy.

Milk chocolate/dark chocolate. A little coffee. Booze.

A rich stout. Very boozy, but enjoyable. I didn't think the alcohol was too intrusive, it seemed to enhance the taste.

Had on tap at Pour Farm, New Bedford

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, moderate carbonation, black in color, opaque

Smell: char and cream

Taste: dark chocolate, light char, cream, and a light smoky backbone

Mouthfeel: heavy body, sweet with char bitterness, low carbonation

Overall: A good not great sweet stout with just enough char to offset the sweetness. The alcohol sneaks up on you. I would get this again, but I would not rush out for it.

Pitch black body with a cream tan head, 10% heavy hitting imperial chocolate milk stout. Off the bat the head doesn't stick around very long speckled lacing follows suit. Aromatics, deep dark chocolate, notes of soy sauce, creamy lactose notes, and again big dark chocolate additions the gangs all here folks. As it warms up I'm getting dark fruit notes within the chocolate/milk chocolate notes. Flavor coats the palate with dark chocolate syrup, cream textures of lactic yogurt notes, earthy nutty notes from the cocoa additions...a really great beer as a whole. It gets a bit cloying sweet be sure to share with fellow beergeeks four to eight ounces is enough for me, 22 ounces is unbearable. Mouthfeel mellows out a bit just a touch of booze notes going on, with full bodied malts. Even flowing carbonation going on down through each sip. Overall, it's a nice beer big chocolate malts enough sweetness to induce diabetes disperse this amongst friends.

22oz bottle, very Clown Shoes-esque, and even with the same (former) contract brewer. I'm sure further investigation could be done, but why should I really fucking care?

This beer pours a solid black abyss, with the barest of basal cola edges (only when held to the direct sunlight currently pouring into the room), and one pudgy finger of puffy, densely foamy, and mildly bubbly light brown head, which leaves some melting ice cream cone lace around the glass as it gently subsides.

It smells of roasted, slightly bready caramel malt, bittersweet chocolate, a bit of gamey meat, cafe-au-lait, a laid-back sour black orchard fruitiness, stale anise, and some middling and musty earthy, woody, and leafy hops. The taste is semi-sweet milk chocolate, toasted caramel malt, a further biscuity graininess, cold black coffee, Scandinavian licorice, a weak earthy and oily nuttiness, and plain leafy, weedy, and woodsy hops - no real sign of the 20-proof alcohol as of yet.

The bubbles are nice and restrained in their genteel frothiness, the body a solid medium-heavy weight, and quite smooth, with a hard to deny creaminess. It finishes on the sweet side, with cocoa, caramel, and coffee that has been sugared and milked to the nuts presiding.

A simple, and mostly one-sided version of the style, which isn't really a problem, per se, especially as the big ABV minds its manners to the nth degree. Overall, this one is sweet, chocolaty, and very dessert-adjacent, in the sense that one might want to heavily consider having some sort of food to go with such a (possibly post-nuke) monster of a brew.

Pours black as ink. Gurgles into the bottom of my snifter. Produces a two finger milk chocolate head that recedes to a small ring around the glass.

On the nose is milk chocolate and booze. Some toasted malt comes in on the end but it's mostly booze.

Taste is boozy. Bittersweet chocolate hits first and there are some toasty notes. But the alcohol really takes over on the end.

This beer is retardedly thick.

The booze kills this beer for me. Doesn't hide the alcohol well AT ALL.

At TJ's Everyday today decided to try something new, going with the Brash Smoglifter. It had everything going for it - looks, nose, taste. This was easily one of the best Milk stouts I ever had. TJ's listed it as an Imperial Milk Chocolate stout. I tend to let this style warm up, but even cold out of the tap, this demonstrated a fine palate pleasing profile.
