Reviewed from last night's notes:
Poured into a snifter glass. The beer pours golden with lots of visible carbonation and a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is of peach, grass, lemon, and some toffee. The flavors follow the aroma. I get the peach and lemon with some of the light bready malt and some toffee. I also get some of that grassy hop bitterness. This is an interesting take on a saison. The 8.5% ABV is well hidden and I would never guess this was 8.5% ABV. The body is medium with spritzy carbonation. The finish is dry and there's some mild lingering hop bitterness in the back. While I can't taste the alcohol, I do start to feel it during the consumption of the beer. This is an excellent beer.

Poured from bomber into snifter
A - poured a slightly hazy yellow-orange color with a smallish 1 finger head. Minimal lacing with the head dissipating rather quickly.
S - hoppy aroma takes the forefront. I get some citrusy aromas, resiny, lemongrass, and a bit earthy hop tones. Also sone piney hints as well. Also a weird rubbing alcohol smell
T - flavor follows the nose for the most part. A little earthy muskiness in the taste as well as orangepeel. Alcohol heat is subdued but a little taste of it
M - feel is a little heavier than desireable but, then again, this isn't your typical saison.
O - this feels more like an IPA than a saison due to the hopped up taste and I know that was the intention here. Not bad, but prefer the more traditional version of this style.

Dry Hopped Saison? I can dig.
Pours a somewhat dark orange, opaque and hazy, with an off white head. Looks alright, but a bit on the dark side. The aroma has plenty of musky, white grape notes, hay, floral and earthy hop notes. Taste has a moderate bitterness, orange, lemon, musky yeast notes, earthy and floral, spicy hop notes. Hints of alcohol as well. Body is a bit heavy for a Saison, medium, somewhat creamy with a smooth mouthfeel and light carbonation.
A bit off kilter for a Saison, but surely by design, and for that reason, I can appreciate it more than I would.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. Bottled on 07/03/13.
A- Pours a murky medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a sheer sheet of surface foam. Not-so-resilient lacing leaves a curvy ring behind.
S- Sweet, juicy aroma with notes of pineapple and orange plus some light malt. A bit of booze and zesty yeast.
T- Some citrus comes on first and shows more fruit notes like grapefruit and tangerine, then comes some bitterness and yeast richness. Finally, there's a substantial malt backing and some alcohol punch at the end. All the flavors, including tart, bitter, citrus, sweet and so forth, come together but don't quite meld in a way that makes them enjoyable. They're just sort of...there.
M- Moist with a dryness on the back end. Medium carbonation with a body leaning toward the lighter side.
O- Unique, but nothing exciting. It drinks nice for the ABV. Sort of an Imperial Saison that doesn't hit the mark.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a footed tulip.
A: Hazy golden hue. Fair amount of rising effervescence following pour. Pours a 1+ finger, foamy, white head. Dissipates quickly, but not completely. Some slight, yet persistent, spiderweb lacing.
S: Sourdough, yeast, fermented raspberry, apricot, and orange zest. Noble hops on-board.
T: Funky fermented raspberry. Very yeasty, with a crisp hop bite, and a light orange citrus accentuate.
M: Light and crisp. Kind of hot, bitter finish, and an aftertaste of orange pith that lingers on the palate. High alcohol is unapparent.
D: Sip and enjoy.
Atmosphere is really nice. Fair head, with some slight lacing. Nose is yeasty and funky with some nice fruity tones and subtle hop presence. Light fruity components accentuated with a crisp hop bite, and an overall yeasty character. Light body with a deceiving alcohol content. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

A - Pours a hazy orange with an eggshell head. Great lacing/retention.
S - Grass, lemon, musk and some sweet peach fruit.
T - Bitter lemon and orange peel. Very earthy as well as floral. A tid bit musky.
M - For a saison, body is a bit heavy/syrupy/cloying and has light carbonation. Alcohol is very evident.
O - Interesting... But, that's gotta be the game plan. Honestly, I'd rather have a tried & true saison, but this was nice to try.

I really enjoyed this. Poured a dark hazel color with a haze to it and a lasting head that kept up. The smell was great with citrus and hop scents coming through. The taste was great with hints of banana and clove along with orange peel and the pine hops. I thought that it was incredibly well balanced but still had enough spice to be a memorable beer. Would definitely recommend.
