This is possibly my favorite beer in the IPA/DIPA category, and not just because I'm a local. It can vary a bit between batches, but it never disappoints. As for the current batch:

A beautiful copper/reddish hue, with a nice creamy head that laces all the way to the end. Pungent, hoppy nose with strong notes of citrus. The Aromatic malt comes through the nose as well, offering just a touch of caramelized malt in the background. The nose promises great flavor, and this beer doesn't disappoint: big citrusy hops up front, finishing with a malty sweetness that is perfectly balanced. Munich and Aromatic malts come through nicely. The hop bitterness cuts the sweetness on the palate just right. The carbonation is smooth, and there is plenty of body to hold up to the big flavors of this brew. Though I can usually only down one of these in a sitting, it's very drinkable for a 9.6% ABV, almost to a dangerous degree. Goes excellent with many of the heavier menu items.

This beer will please any true hop-head, and is a must have if you ever visit Otto's! Truly a favorite.

Sampling a 12 oz bottle at cellar temp poured into a snifter. The beer is a gift from my brother Brian.
The beer pours a bright clear copper color with minimal eggshell white head of about .5 cm. The head fades quickly to a tightly packed edge layer.
Aroma is some light caramel and then rindy and spicy hops. I also get a little black pepper booze mixed in.
First sip reveals an average body with mild spacious carbonation that rolls gently across my palate.
Flavor is similar to what is to be expected from the nose, I get some mildly grainy and sweet caramel this rolls to a very dry finish with some rindy citrus hops and a lingering astringency.
There is just a little booze that gives a slight peppery kick but no warmth or fusol heat.
THe beer is very easy to drink even with the larger ABV.
I find his ABV enjoyable and fun to drink. Could be a little on the dangerous side for drinkability. A nice example of the style that isnt just tons of hops to burn your mouth as you drink.

Pours a copper color with a white head. A bit of lace is left behind. Aroma of citrus and herbs. Citrusy and malty. In the taste, quite bitter and citrusy with some pineapple and tropical pine. Nicely balanced between fruity, bitter and sweet. Medium to full bodied. Overall, this is a delicious imperial
pale ale.

Bottle > Mason Pint

A - Clear orange gold with a finger of foamy white head with some medium spotty lacing.
S - Dank pine, a little astringent, some ripe tropical notes.
T - Malt sweetness, orange juice, dank pine and hop resin, grassy, alcohol
M - Too much alcohol burn, kinda sticky.
O - Decent double IPA, aroma is the best part, just too much alcohol.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.
Thanks to my buddy John for this one.

Appearance
Reddish amber with a short off-white head that dissipates quickly. Excellent clarity and low-moderate carbonation.

Nose
Navel orange, tangerine, lemon and pink grapefruit.

Taste
Lemon pith, pink grapefruit and perfumey florals. Lighter notes of orange citrus and pineapple juice. Well balanced honey sweet backbone. Finishes with grapefruit rind, lemon zest and pine needles.

Mouthfeel
Medium-plus bodied, juicy, oily and smooth.

Overall
Well, I'll be...9.6%? Wow. Nicely balanced and hides the alcohol extremely well.

Great amber appearance!

Taste is clean & refreshing with vibrant citrus flavors and lingering passion fruit on the finish!

Great bouquet of kiwi, apricot, mango and passion fruit!

Great all year round beer! I personall think this beer is much better than how it's rated! I had it on tap at Canal Street in Reading, PA. What a treat!

A-Clear amber orange, well carbonated, two finger head with some lacing.

S-Rather hoppy, more earthy than citrus, caramel.

T-Well balanced, nice bitterness in the finish. Earthy hops, some citrus, caramel and malt as well.

M-Medium bodied, velvety with nice carbonation.

O-Not a hop bomb but well balanced. The alcohol is well hidden, did not know it was 9% when drinking it, or I would have slowed down.
