On cask at Otto's on 1/18/08. Served in an imperial pint glass.
A - Thick, hazy amber/orange body with two-finger creamy, eggshell head. Very attractive cask ale. Decent head retention and excellent sticky lacing around the glass.
S - Pungent citrus and some grassy hops right off the bat. Lots of caramel sweetness. Also some traces of mild breadiness and lemon zest. Slight medicinal quality in the aroma, but not too pronounced.
T - Fresh, juicy hops up front, but not as strong as the aroma would suggest. Lots of caramel sweetness that balances out the hops. Finish is only mildly bitter with a nice grainy aspect.
M - Falls a bit short for a cask ale. Texture is trying to be creamy, but its pretty thin and watery. Finish is short and bitter sweet.
D - Aside from the thin texture, this is super-easy to drink. Still quite tasty and drinkable, but didn't knock my socks off.
