Also had this one on tap at Common Table at their 2nd anniversary. Visually, it had a great amber color and a good amount of lacing. Good taste, a bit of spice, although it had a bit more alcohol taste than I would expect for a 6.2% beer.
Overall, a solid effort from an up and coming brewery, and a welcome addition to the format. Look forward to trying their other brews soon.

Poured gently at 47°F from a 22oz bottle (bottled on 13Jul15) into a tulip. Consumed on 22Apr16.
LOOK: A fingers worth of khaki foam is formed after pouring. Within 45 seconds, the foam head recedes to a half fingers worth. Amber in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. Despite being poured gently, there are a few small pieces of yeast at the bottom of the glass. There is a large quantity of small, rising bubbles. Lacing is thick and moderate.
SMELL: Very strong aromas of figs are met by strong aromas of caramel and molasses, mild aromas of plums and toast, and subtle aromas of bananas and earthy yeast. The overall smell is almost cloying with very little balance.
TASTE: Strong fig and molasses flavors first explode on to the palate, giving an initial impression of a very sweet brew that has plenty of room for balance. Strong flavors of caramel and mild flavors of plums immediately follow and further leave the palate yearning for balance. Some balance is finally achieved as mild toast and banana flavors along with subtle coffee flavors enter. Subtle flavors of sour green apple enter lastly to bring the tartness that I love in this style while all previous flavors press on, except for banana, which grow slightly stronger.
FEEL: Full-bodied with moderate levels of carbonation. Goes down somewhat smooth and creamy. Finishes with a mild, but pleasant dryness.
NOTE: A stretch from the traditional farmhouse approach of the Bière de Garde style, I understood this to be a modern day version. This was a very sweet brew, that left even someone such as I, who has a gargantuan sweet tooth, wanting a little more balance. This bottle was a year old and I did buy another one. I'm going to age that for a year and see what what wonders time will do.

Appearance:
Thick off white head that’s very creamy, lasts a while and is surrounded by a thick lacing. The body is clear with a medium amber center.
Smell:
Malts, burnt herbs and mild citrus fruit. Mild spices do come through.
Taste:
Grapefruit, spices, mild apple and a mild tartness throughout and a mild clove in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel:
Light – medium bodied and full of carbonation.
Overall:
Very refreshing, and very smooth, this, so far, is the best Rogness beer I’ve so far.

A: 3.5 - Very cloudy brown with a small, airy head.
S: 4.25 - Ooo, interesting aroma. I thought this was going to be a generic amber but it's got spicy phenols out the wazoo, with fruity notes of raisin, good caramel underpinning.
T: 3.25 - Doh, hopes dashed. Not very interesting. In fact, it tastes rather oxidized, though I bought it at Whole Foods which sees a good turnover. Musty, tannic, somewhat on the sweet side.
M: 3.5 - Not carbonated enough. Flattish.
O: 3.25 - Another very unimpressive beer from Rogness.
