A good very drinkable though dry porter. Solid stuff, chocolate, anise, molasses. Black and rich looking. I did the bomber, but that was still a lot of porter.
Slight smoke, a very good roastiness. Coffee in secondary.Smooth mouthfeel. Bottle from Steve beerenberger.

Black pour, with a brown head, some lace, decent retention. Aroma of roast, cocoa, coffee, plums, taste is very bittersweet. Like a very high percentage cacao. Roast, mild coffee, faint dark fruits. Creamy feel, medium in body. There's some smokiness. Though its minimal...some charring too.

Overall, a unique porter. I enjoy it, quite glad I grabbed another bottle.

22 oz bomber pours a pretty-much-black color with a small tan head. Too small for lace but retention and collar are decent.

Smells pretty impressive...just enough leafy hops to go along with a roasty malt backdrop that has enough sweetness to combat both. Chocolate for sure, fruit is light but there might be some raisins in there somewhere. Im excited, this smells top notch!

Taste is pretty nice; the malt is grainy, caramely and chocolate with a mild roast and leafy hop finishing things off nicely. The mouthfeel is nice...creamy for a porter and definitely smooth. Its light as far as overall heft compared to where contemporary porters seem to be headed. This seems to be a nice, well done throwback to the old days before imperial this and imperial that. Im pretty damn happy to have this addition to the Texas scene, it definitely exceeded my expectations. Put this in 6-packs please.

Had on tap at Black Sheep Lodge. Pours up pretty black with not much head. Quickly died down. Aromas of chocolate malt. No real hops here. Pretty basic. Tastes of chocolate malts, a little burnt flavor, toasty if you will, not much else. Pretty easy going. Moderate carbo, easy drinking. Nothing extreme but not bad. Which is a good thing

Pretty good one here, first time trying this Texas brewery.

Appearance pretty standard porter. Black and opaque with a fairly typical head and lace.

Aroma is roasty, a little astringent, with a touch of dark caramel malt, and some standard coffee, chocolate, roasty, and burnt notes. Flavor follows.

The astringent qualities make it seem like higher ABV than it is. Could maybe use a little tweaking, but don't get me wrong, it's tasty beer. I will have to try another from this brewery next time I'm at that store.

On tap at Nobi Public House.

A: Pours a dark brown, nearly black color. A large tan head rises with good retention. Nice lace is left behind as well.
S: Roasted malt, bread and biscuit, a toffee sweetness. Some smoke, chocolate and coffee aromas as well.
T: Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and a bit more smoke here. Almost seems acrid, but not in an over barring way. Some toffee sweetness as well.
M/D: A medium to full body. Good carbonation, almost a little to much. Easy to drink. I can put a few away without a problem.

Another good beer from Rogness. I will be looking for these guys more often. I am happy I cam across this. Lots of depth here, and like Rook there seems to be a bit of smoked malt in the mix. Very enjoyable.
