Served on-tap at the Grumpy Troll. This pours a cloudy copper orange color with an off-white head. The aroma is a mixture of hops and citrus. The taste is smooth, rich, with a lot of hops mixed with citrus and caramel malts. Finish pleasantly dry. This is an all-around good beer.

Pours a nice clear orange with thin white head and heavy lacing. Nose is very heavy on the pine, resin, lemon, and grapefruit character. Taste us heavy on grapefruit with notes if orange and lemon as well as grass. Mouthfeel is light with high carbonation. Overall, very nice hoppy dipa!!

Poured from bomber into CBS snifter. Served slightly chilled.

A) Copper with a little haze. About two fingers of off white head. The head quickly settles to a collar. A little lacing initially.

S) Malt sweetness dominates, with just light floral hops. This has a nice sweet tropical fruit aroma, which was quite appealing.

T) Good malt backbone, decent balance with the hops. Follows the nose, especially in regards to the tropical fruit. There is a bit of a grassy finish with some booze. The alcohol is pretty well hidden, but is more apparent with warmth.

M) Damn near full bodied, if it's not. Pretty smooth, and fairly easy drinking, even with the higher ABV. A bit of sting to it, but it settles well, with lighter carbonation.

O) Really, this is a pretty good brew pub imperial IPA. No complaints here. If you visit the Grumpy Troll, give this one a shot.

This DIPA pours a dark golden/light amber with a clingy white head. The aroma is moderately hoppy-some citrus and floral hops, nothing crazy, but still inviting. The flavor is moderately hoppy, mainly floral and a bit spicy with moderate toasty malts. The hop bitterness is high and definitely lingers into the swallow a bit. The carbonation and body are both medium. Overall a decent IIPA, worth trying if you are here, though the nose could use a bit of work.

Thanks to urbancaver for the hook up.

A- nice orange color. Some white lace to the head.
S-no distinct hops, but you know they are there.
T-run of your mill Iipa. Taste more like an ipa than an Iipa. Very bitter. No other hop tsse
M-not bad at all. Full bodied
D-drinkable. Couldn't taste the alcohol at all.

Thanks for this one, cam (urbancaver)

A - deep orange, thin white head, a bit cloudy.

S - bland malty profile, not what I expect from an IPA

T - just bitter hops, no other hops, and a bland malty sweetness. somewhat in balance with nose, but still not very good.

M - rather drying, medium body.

D - pretty easy to drink, but poor tasting.

On tap at the the Grumpy Troll Brewpub.

A- Pours a rich apple cider color. Vuluptuous head that stays along for the ride for the most part with plenty of lacing to back it up. Looks great.

S- Hoppy hoppy joy joy.

T- Its stanky! A good thing. Very different than the DIPAs I've had. Wow.

M- Rich and creamy. Daddy like.

D/O- Maggie is in yer face with the extreme hop flavor which limits this to a one or two pint session. Great experience overall. Cheers to Grumpy Troll Brewpub!

Appearance: Pours a beautiful golden color with a medium off white head.

Smell: A beautiful bouquet of hops possibly cascade or brewers gold or something similar

Taste: I was a bit worried as it was 100 IBUs but this beer was none too bitter. A great hops flavor complimented with citrus.

Drinkability: Medium-Heavy well carbonated, goes down smooth.

This arrived in a full pint at the brewpub, it was listed at 9% so I was expecting a snifter or something for only $4.

It was a hazy orange with a thin layer of foam on its surface. The texture was a little thicker than expected. The aroma was sort of oily and phenolic, it was more like a strong Belgian yeast smell, backed by caramel malt. Some hops were there, but not what I was expecting for a DIPA. Feel was also robust, full bodied, somewhat slick and oily. The alcohol was definitely there, and that yeast was again reminding me more of a Belgian than DIPA. Alcohol was masked somewhat, but certainly a flavor component. After the one pint, I was done. Probably could have done a sample of this instead, but the price was right. Not sure i'd tackle a bomber of this alone.

Pours a clear, amber color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong hops (good floral aroma), alcohol, sweet malt, and and slight dark citrus. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and thick with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong hops up front, alcohol is present but well hidden, a fruity flavor (almost a sweet berry or plum), and a subtle sweet malt in the finish. There's also a dryness in the finish. Wow, what a great beer that I highly recommend.

22oz bottle obtained in the No BS 4 BIF via dirtylou. Thanks for the opportunity.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/4" beige head over the cloudy orangey amber brew. Head fades gradually, with average lacing. Aroma is sweet, grapefruity, and alcohol is evident. Taste starts syrupy sweet, goes with a citrus twang in the middle, then bitter and alcohol tango to the close, when grapefruit peeks out again into the warming. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and drinkability is excellent. Plentitude of hops plays well with all the other flavors here. Good stuff.
