A - Body is dark amber--almost raspberry-colored. Crystal clear and sparkling. 1/2 inch of head forms and fades quickly.
S - Lots of wheaty, earthy aromas. Good caramel presence as well. Just a touch of sharp tartness detectable too.
T - Tons of caramel and some burnt sugar flavor up front. Stays sweet through the middle and adds in a bit of spicy, vegetal hop flavor. Finish has a nice sweet tang to it and is quite smooth. Aftertaste of butterscotch.
M - Thin-to-medium body. Balanced carbonation. Extremely drinkable as any good Marzen should be. Finish is quite clean except for just a touch of residual sugariness.

Nice clean, red body, but absolutely no head.
Next to no aroma.
Thin taste, with some astringency, but really not displeasing. But no where near the creamy sweetness I would expect from a marzen.
Too thin. Much too thin.
Drinkable, approachable for sure.

Pours a very nice looking red color with a tan head that dissipates a bit quickly.
Not a strong smell to this one. Sweet malt, yeast, and a bit or caramel.
Starts out a touch sweet with caramel notes. There are smokey notes in there, and finishes with a light hop bite.
Nice feel to it, smooth, with a bit of carbonation to tingle the tongue.
So far the best beer from this brewery I have had. It is a store brand, but this one can compete well. Has a nice flavor, and goes down easy. Will likely get more of this one.

A - Copper colored ale with a one-finger, off-white head of pillowy foam. It left thin trails of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled sweet and malty with floral notes.
T - Bread crust, sweetness, roasted malt, and caramel. A touch of herbal spiciness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied lager with a clean finish.
O - This is a nice sessionable marzen. Affordable and drinkable.

An inch tall light beige head on a effervescent filled deep red body. Excellent lacing and head retention for the style.
Sweet caramelly malts, biscuity. Again, very sweet on the nose.
Follows the aroma with the sweetness. Nary a hop to be tasted. I can almost get a smokiness after I read that word on the label. I'd guess a lower abv, something close to 5%.
Medium-low, both in mouthfeel and carbonation.
I found Baraboo Marzen to be somewhat one dimensional (out of balance sweet), but is light enough to have a couple and be happy about it. Thanks for the try Marc!

The beer pours a deep brown-amber-orange in color, almost becoming ruby. There is an inch of creamy, off-white head.
The aroma is malty, roasted, tangy, with the slightest hint of smoke, almost a light chipotle note.
The taste is deeply malty, roasted, dark caramel, with the same light chipotle undertone of the aroma (subtle, not out front). I use that description as it is akin to a "spicy" smokiness. Mouthfeel is appropriate to the style.
This is a tasty and interesting take on a Marzen, and another winner from Baraboo. For proprietary grocery store chain contract brews, they do a really good job.

Sampled on 6/5/14 and is only available at Hy-Vee grocery stores. Bottled chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a glass boot.
Pours a pretty copper-amber in color with a good 2+-finger off white foamy head. A good amount of lacing is seen with each sip. The aroma isn't too strong but is of sweet caramel malts, yeast, with a hint of floral. The taste is even better with the above flavors coming through with a hint of butterscotch and a slight tangy finish. Goes down easy and is tasty. Perfect carbonation for this type of brew.
