Stopped in the weekend of March 6th.
A friend and I were coming into LA for a bottle release and to visit a few breweries for the weekend. We stopped here as it was on the way down and we've both wanted to visit and check out their selection.

Exterior was not what I was expecting. It looked like a mini mart and nothing you'd expect to find a decent selection of craft beer in. There was plenty of empty boxes laying around outside and trash along the entrance.

Interior was crowded, cluttered with mini mart types of items (gum, candy, etc.) and aisles of food. The last two aisles were reserved for glassware, wine, and coolers of beer. Some beers and extra stock were also displayed behind the protective glass check out counter.

Staff was friendly and nice. There were no public restrooms on site but they were understanding in our just arrive after a four drive and kindly let us use the employee restroom behind the counter. Staff was courteous in looking up prices for me on some unmarked bottles I was interested in as well as letting us know if there was any specialty bottles we were looking for available behind the counter.

Selection was not what I had come to expect in my head. With a title of "Craft Beer Kings" on Instagram I was hoping to see floor to ceiling selection and several aisles of beer to keep me busy wondering for hours. Most of the bottles were kept in cold storage. However the selection appeared limited for a California specialty beer store. Prices seemed fair and only a few items I noticed were priced $1-2 higher than other places I'd seen.

Overall, staff was nice. Place was uncomfortable and crowded and selection seemed lacking and misleading from pictures I'd seen. I take time out of my travel to pull off here in the future any time soon, but if you're in the area it may be worth checking out.

I visited Plaza Market for the first time today being in the area. Knowing Craft Beer Kings reputation from the forums here, this review is from an in-person visit perspective. From the outside barring signs that say they sell craft beer, you wouldn't think they have a large selection.

A lot of their beers are refrigerated (kudos to them!) in coolers towards the back. I did see some beers on shelves. I thought the selection was very diverse and solid. You have a representative sample of beers from Belgium, Germany, and craft beers being distributed in SoCal. I didn't strike up a conversation with anyone at the store, so who knows if they had any special offerings or rarities in the back or behind the counter.

The cashier area is walled off with a plexiglass partition like you see at a bank which kinda throws off a bad vibe. They did have beers on shelves behind the partition. I did a quick peek but didn't see any rarities.

I thought the pricing was okay, generally market pricing.

If you're in the area, they do have solid selection, and is definitely worth a visit.

Having been into craft beer for several years now and being a Los Angeles County native, it is only recently that I've learned of Plaza Market and the vast selection of rare, choice beer offerings they have. From Russian River, Cascade Brewing, Bruery to Cantillon - just to name a few, you'll invariably find something you're looking for. I dropped by today in-person to fulfill my online order and was offered a rare Belgian Kriek Lambic Bio, which I instantaneously scooped up. Thanks for the hook-up, Sam. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help you find the beer you're looking for. A spot-on craft beer shop in my humble opinion.

This place is awesome. They have a pretty large selection of beers, proper glassware, t shirts and knowledgable employees. I actually found out about this place on Instagram and I'm glad I did. The last time I was there I picked up some Almanac sours. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Mostly positive experiences (all online through craftbeerkings). Had some confusion with getting a refund when the wrong beer was shipped. Have been able to get some beers I haven't found elsewhere. Would like to see the bottle limit policy changed. Makes sense to limit so others can get some to but 1 bottle limits when dealing with shipping too is a pain. Maybe make it in the 2 to 6 range?

Lots of beer but poorly organized and quite a few duplicates in other sections. It's definitely a great place but it's not for me. I couldn't find anything I really wanted to take back to the east coast with me.

This is a regular stop for me when I'm looking for specific bottles. I am very lucky to be local. All the guys (Mike, Moe, et. al) at Plaza are helpful and knowledgable. They take great care of their customers and can answer nearly any questions about beer. The best in the area, for sure.

This is the place to go for all of your craft beer needs in the San Gabriel Valley! I've been coming here for a while now and have never been dissappointed with the service or the selection. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, but the two that really stand out are Moe and Mike. Awesome dudes! The prices are very reasonable oh and did i mention that they ship to other states?! Check em out at craftbeerkings.com or follow them on instagram @craftbeerkings to stay updated on their stock
Truely a hidden gem burried in the middle of South El Monte!

What a hidden gem buried in the, umm, neighborhoods of LA. I honestly thought I was at the wrong place when I pulled up as it basically looks like a quick-e-mart in the Hispanic community.

So much great west coast stuff to be found here that I almost had to buy a second suitcase. Be sure to ask for Moe - he was super helpful and offered some stuff behind the counter that I never expected to get. About 3 isles of fantastic, quality stuff.
