Overall a great blonde IPA. The initial appearance was very pale and clear, smell a bit low, but the taste was very crisp and hoppy: dry, clean, and bitter.

A: A very pale yellow. Almost like a light mass produced beer, but with a darker yellow color. Very clear.

S: Smell, you could definitively tell this was an IPA, but nothing special.

T: Very 'thin' on the malt flavor, tasted like a very dry 2-row beer. It had a very nice crisp bitter hop flavor, and very drinkable.

M: A bit smooth, but thin. Overall, for a Blonde, it was great.

Overall: I really liked this beer, I am sad I cannot get this locally where I live. It was good enough that I would go a bit out of my way to get this on tap next locally next time I am in Oregon.

A: Poured a nice transparent, golden-yellowish color with great carbonation leaving behind a huge foamy white cap with good head retention and nice lacing

S: Wow. Big and bright floral, leafy green hops with a dash of citrus

T: Initial dash of coriander/orange peel with some nice floral hops, little bit more citrus and some grains. A light bit of peppering spice warmth comes in for a brief moment but the finish is all hay, grass, flowers and a light bitterness with a dash of coriander and orange peel

M: Very light and refreshing, lots of taste here, easy to drink.

O: A hot summer day? Gimme a growler of this!

Absolutley loved this. Has on draught at Eureka! In seattle. Never heard of a blond ipa before I had this one. I recommend this and would love to have this again.

Popped the lid and was drawn right in with the sweetish citrus fumes. Poured into a Delerium Christmas goblet. Big taste, big big hop flavour. In my mind I paired this as the perfect beer to be served at a pro sports game. It goes down easy, with a remnant of hoppy bitterness, which is not a bad thing. Two of these at a 2 hour game would be a perfect fit for me.
Reminds me a little of an overamped Pilsner. ABV is not out of control, which impresses.
Shame the American dollar is at a premium right now (30%) thus a bottle is running $7.00..just a little too rich for me for a regular brew.
Very similar to Hop Circle, a local brew.
Oh and nice graphics and bottle design, it is what drew me in.

500mL (bottled 4/21/2015) into a tulip. Pours a pale clear golden color w/ a bright white head.

Aroma is big grapefruit and lemon, citrusy and bright. A layer of pale neutral malt behind that.

Taste is likewise brightly citrusy and bitter, lots of grapefruit rind and lively alpha acid bitterness. Finishes pretty dry with a slightly juicy twang, the malt bill is very clean and barebones, which I like. Just a touch of sweetness.

Mouthfeel is, again, clean and crisp. Drinkable and thirst-quenching.

Overall a really nice understated IPA. I was expecting more of a Belgian influence for some reason, but this is just a showcase for the citrusy hops. Enjoyed this one very much.

Poured into a Blanche de Namur small pint glass. Pours a light golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of pinapple and other tropical fruit, orange and citrus hops, lightly floral. Flavor is mild caramel malt, orange, lemon and grapefruit citrus, light tropical fruit, citrus and mildly piney hops, Belgian yeast. Nice finish of complex citrus hops, residual tropical fruit, citrus rind. Good lightly creamy medium body. Well integrated and flavoful IPA, not intensely hopped or bitter, but with plenty of herbal hop flavors. Leans more towards an IPA than a blonde ale, but has the blonde malt profile. Interesting and quite satisfying to drink. Unusually light, almost deceptively pale look diguises a substantial ale. Glad that Pfriem beers are now available bottled in my area.

Handsome golden color with a coarse head in the Ciney snifter. So aromatic, with flowery hops, gardenia, and fermenting apples. Spritzy and nicely carbonated on the tongue.

Warm straw with a sharp finish. Some piney notes along with the Funky and sparkly. I guess you could say this has a touch of cat pee, but I wish there was a better metaphor for that faintly acrid tang. Rather bitter aftertaste but it seems quite rewarding amidst the play of flavors.

This is another delightful variation of the IPA theme. The Blonde Ale category was just waiting for someone to play with it. It has that same flabby malt feel as a typical Blonde, but now it's sharp and brassy with the fragrant hops. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Central Market in Shoreline, Washington.

I wasn't planning on stopping by, but while walking along the HR waterfront, I noticed Pfriem just there, and on my way back, I had to stop in to check them out.

Clear golden yellow, dense white head, nice retention and lacing. Nose has a nice crisp hop oil character, with pine oil, citrus zest, pear, orange blossom honey and guava. This is very nice! There is a touch of malt, but it blends well with the fruity hop flavors. Palate is decent, I feel like there's too much mineral character that gets in the way of the hops. Moderate bitterness, there's all the fruity complexity of the nose with a moderate mineral char- I wonder if they use simcoe hops? Sweetness is mild, palate is medium light and finish is pleasingly bitter and oily with a little mineral character. Nice stuff.

on-tap @ the brewery in hood river

Served in a lovely 16oz non-shaker pint (bought one to bring home) - a light straw-golden body, clear and clean with a light ring of white foam. Crisp and hoppy, light citrus, lemon, crackery malt, some belgian yeast characteristics. Very refreshing.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a clear and bright pale yellow color, pilsner like in appearance with a big billowy white colored head on top and some solid rings of lacing left behind with each sip.

S — Smell is strongly fruity, pungent, and bitter, with lemon and melon notes.

T — Bitter, piney, pungent, resinous, lemony, tropical, melon, juicy, great.

M — Medium bodied, crisp and clean overall.

O — Very nice overall, an odd name, don't think of it as a light IPA, but just as a solid juicy IPA.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear light pale yellow color, almost the color of the big macro lagers, with over 1/2 inch of white head that had had very good retention and moderate-to-good lacing.

The scent was a lot bolder and brighter than the appearance led me to expect. Lots of bold, bright citrus and pine hops. There was just a very faint light malt aroma in the background. The flavor profile featured those same bold hops, pine in the front, mildly bitter citrus on the finish, and a nice blend of the two in the middle.

The body was clean, light, and had a nicely dry finish. Drinkability was very good, sneakily so for a 6+% brew, the beer goes quickly and easily and you're on your third before you realize it. Overall, a very nice beer. Not typical for an American IPA, and also not just an overly hoppy Blonde ale. Worth some effort to seek out, and a must try if you see it.

FringeFest 2012.

The beer pours a light gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is unusual (but as this is fringefest...), as I get some dry citrus, hints of butter and some underlying grain flavor. The flavor profile replicates the nose, but is a bit odd. I get dry dry citrus, tons of green onion and pepper. Also, while the beer is medium bodied, there's a considerable alcohol bite in the finish that I'm not digging.

Mehhh... not one of my favorites during fringefest.

Tried recently again at the Bier Stein. The current rendition seems to have a lot of the same characteristics I asoociate with a good pilser (some light honey, bread dough and cracker on the nose, with some light citrus as well). The flavor profile is more of the same, and the beer is pretty light. Still not one of my favorites from Pfriem I'm afraid.

16oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Bottled on 4-21-15.

Pours clear, light yellow -- almost greenish. Smallish head, medium carbonation. Smell is old hay, grass and greens.

Taste is light, lagery almost, but with a crispness. It actually reminds me more of a hoppy pilsner than any kind of IPA. Unlike most pilsners, it does have a long, lingering, clingy bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp and nice.Overall..it's fine. Nothing special.
