Thanks to Beermasons for this and pours a murky blood orange hue which leaves a creamy dimple laden two finger head that stays and leaves nice lacing everywhere, the smell is banannas, sour cherries, nutmeg and funky yeast, the mouthfeel is medium bodied and has tastes of orange peels, banannas, wheaty bread, funky yeast, nutmeg, caramel,a touch of alcohol and finished with a full feel of blood oranges and a funky tartness and overall a nice example of the style and a pretty versatile drop that goes with most food cheers.

Look: It pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has strong malty aromas with toffee and cherry. There are some tart notes with a bit of spiciness.

Taste: It is actually quite fruity in the flavor with cherries and plums. There are some coffee elements with some coffee. There is some very low spiciness and hints of lemons. There is some tartness to it.

Feel: It has a medium full body with a lowly tart finish.

Overall, this beer was purchased from a sale rack and could be quite old. With that said, I didn't find this to be too much like a weizenbock, but as a beer it was quite good.

2012 vintage; drank 7/1/15 on draft @ Fountainhead.

Murky orange rust appearance.

White head; nice lace.

Strawberry, toast & yeast notes in the nose.

Creamy, medium thick mouthfeel.

Cardboard & strawberry flavors up front; wheat notes on the finish.

Oddly drinkable but not one I'll return to.

Pours out a light caramel color with a thinnish white head. Smells of light funk, caramel, chocolate, spicy yeast. Has the maltiness of a dunkelweizen, but with a kind of Franco-Belgian funky, tart yeast character. I don't pick up much coffee, if at all. Mouthfeel is pretty light for the alcohol strength. Carbonation is a bit prickly. Certainly an unexpected beer, based on this being labeled a coffee dunkelweizen. Tasty.

Bottle: Poured a light clear brown color bock with a medium size off-white foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of tart and hoppy notes with quite strong floral coffee aromas. Taste is unique mixes of tart notes mix in with dry hoppy notes with some floral coffee notes with light dry bitterness. Body is light with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very unique mix of flavours but not sure I would feel the need to drink this again.
