On tap at Decicco's on 12/12/12
Poured into a 9oz. snifter. Pretty poor head. Poor retention. I blame the glass actually. Dusty and opaque cooked straw color. Dirty looking, with colors of honey, and well amber waves of grain. The aroma is oh so dirty. Goat, hay, horse blanket...funk. Also some lemon and high citrus notes. The flavor opens up with very earthy notes of tobacco, unprocessed straw, and some chalk. Following this is more traditional notes of hay, horse, and a hint of lemon sour drop. There is some nice earthy hop components adding herbal and interesting qualities to this beer. Dry boardering on astringent. Overall this is a beer that defies style. I would say this is beyond saison, but damn tasty regardless.

A: Glowey straw gold beer. Giant cream colored head. Sticks to the glaass like cream cheese cake frosting. Big clumpy goodness.
S: Aroma reminds me of a more tart orval. Sweet dandelions, warm summer farmy smells, soft orangy citrus, wild stinky yeast, very floral.
T: Very dry, floral, puckering lemon rind tart, sweet crackery breadiness. Moderately acidic. Nicely done.
