Served cold from 500ml green bottle into a straight pint glass.

A) Firstly, very cool Victorian medicine-type bottle. Secondly, it's green, so not that cool. Poors a golden colour, virtually no head despite sloshing out of the unusually shaped bottle.

S) Honey-like esters. Not promising.

T) First taste is mildly estery bland. Second taste is a short-lived fairly pleasant nutty flavour. Third and most distinctive taste is an unpleasant bitterness at the back of the throat.

M) Moderately carbonated and quite astringent. Unpleasant bitterness lingers for a quite a long time, as it does from their St Peter's Bitter.

O) Buy it to support the small brewery and make your own mind up. The bottle is cool. I won't buy it again.

A 500ml green glass bottle with a BB of March 2014, so it's just out of date. Acquired some time back from a supermarket. The label describes it as a golden ale brewed using traditional malt and hop varieties.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A deep golden-amber hue with faint haze and good carbonation. Yields a small head of white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Aroma of grainy malt with hints of biscuits, mild caramel, ale yeast, hay, subtle earthiness and faint stewed leaves. Slightly sweet. Balanced but unexciting.

Tastes of grainy malt with a dry finish. Notes of biscuits, mild caramel, grass/hay, ale yeast, stewed hops and faint earthiness. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained, leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter stewed leaves and grainy malt.

Not bad - a well-judged ale that hits the right notes. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour showcase biscuity malt and delicate, grassy hops. Decent body. A good example of a traditional ale; goes down nicely. Worth sampling if you have the chance.

Sampling right now on 3/14/14. Comes in a pretty heavy green 'flask' bottle that is '1 pint .09 Fl.ounces'. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a english pint glass.

Pours a orange/amber in color with a thin white head. Some spotty lacing is seen but settles back down the glass. The aroma is at first a mild' skunky' (as is COMMON for some reason with brews in green bottles) and is of malts with a hint of floral hops. The taste is MUCH better than the aroma with some buttery malts coming through. Lower carbonation which fit this one to a tee. Actually easy to drink as I wasn't sure.

A: Translucent golden with a white head.

S: If you can get past the skunkiness, which is possible, you get sweet malt in the nose.

T: Nice solid maltiness, with light hoppiness fairly typical of the english style golden ale. Not bad, but not amazing.

M: Medium bodied and smooth.

O: The skunkiness could be dealt with better, by putting it in darker bottles, and it could be a more interesting beer, but it's tasty, and worth a try. Recommended.

I'm working my way through the St. Peters bottles available at my local watering hole.

I enjoyed this one. Slightly cloudy and lightly carbonated.

The smell isn't exactly my forte. Strong, malt, floral. Considering this is a characteristic of this type of brew, I was expecting as much and land in the middle as far as scent is concerned.

The taste was biting, bitter, and crisp. Grain, hop, skunk. Not very complex, in my mind its a straight forward concoction.

I think the mouthfeel is my savior for me. Goes down easily, while still having a unique viscosity and texture.

Not amazing, not terrible. I would like to try a fresher bottle or on-tap, then speak my opinion again.
