Pours from its distinctive green-yellow medicinne bottle an orange amber, entirely devoid of head save a few large unrelated bubbles, and completely free of visible carbonation - Seems to be standard. Cap seal was not bad.
Smell is strong with tangy burnt caramel and swampy earth - My first impression was distinct wet dog odor, but soon a bit of warming brought out more favorable scents. Slight marshmallow puffs, extremely mild English hops.
You know what they say about the English.. they like their beer 'warm'... Don't drink this at fridge temp. I won't mention what I thought of it cold, but as it warms, it blossoms to a drinkable half-tangy, half-creamy butterscotch with light steamed veggie notes and a swishy noble hop bite that balances both the flavor and the feel.
Very oily - while carbonation isn't visible, it does exist, a slight creaminess that builds upon swallowing. Smooth, medium-heavy body for a mild ale.
Good, if forgettable. Worth the purchase to discover how flavors change with temperature and for the medicine bottle.

Phenomenal English Ale that is light and hoppy in flavor and unbelievably refreshing.
Has a bright color and a slight head to it, with very light lacing around the glass. Indicative of the lighter and flavors of the beer.
Smell is strong of hops and grain, light in alcohol.
Excellent taste - hopped, with notes of grain and biscuit, very little bitterness as the oatmeal flavors tend to round out anything really strong. Has the perfect carbonation to allow all the flavor to come through, without sticking around too long.
Feel is excellent as the beer has a perfect texture, and a well rounded viscosity. Very thin like a lager, with more foam and carbonation to match the slightly more bitter flavors.
Would highly recommend as a beer for drinking on a hot summer afternoon, or a cold evening with whiskey.
