This is the first brew of Whetstone's very new brewery that I have been able to try - they categorize it as a "Summer Ale", which I think is much more close to what it is than a traditional hefeweizen, but BA did not have that style as a choice

Appearance - a bright unfiltered amber, golden around the edges. This beer is unfiltered and "unpasteurized" - an homage to Brattleboro's famous Strolling of the Heifers even that happens every June. The beer looks as fun as it's name suggests. Beautiful in color and just the right amount of haziness.

Smell - Bright yet yeasty. Hints of coriander with a rounded citrus

Taste - Very good - similar to many other good Summer Ales I have tried this year. Bright and slightly complex, drinkable. Clean orange zest on the palate

Mouthfeel - For me, it could have been a little drier (personal preference). Otherwise, good carbonation. It is also a little thin for an unfiltered beer, again this is more of a personal preference.

Overall - very impressive for just their second beer! Can't wait to see more from them, according to their menu up next is a IPA called "Hoppy Day IPA" - its worth a trip to this beautiful Vermont hometown (and for you VT Whalers, they have an amazing selection of bottles, including CBC's Sargent Pepper and Hill Farmstead's Fantome)
