Dark body and a thick brown head erupts off a strong pour. Leaves lots of lacing. Looks tempting...

Big chocolate notes and the raspberry is fairly present. Roasty and sweet.

All the same Temptress flavor is there but with an added pop of raspberry. This seems sweeter to me than the regular. The berry makes itself known more mid palate and pops bigger at the end and lingers a bit in the finish.

The Temptress has a luxurious body that feels good on the tongue.

The raspberry addition is a winner for me. Sounds like bottles next go around. Can't wait!

I love Lakewood and also the temptress series but this is definitely my least favorite rendition. From what I read in previous reviews it must have been better on tap at the brewery release. However, the 2015 version from a 22 oz bottle left much to be desired. The smell and look are on point but the taste.... Not so good. The raspberry flavor and alcohol create something reminiscent of robitussin. I struggled to finish my glass.

Poured from a 22oz bottle. Doesn't overpower with fruit flavor, but rather gives a beautiful raspberry essence which provided an excellent complement to the nutty oat and vanilla flavor that makes the regular Temptress such a hit.

This pours into my stout glass a near-black, rich-looking beer with a nice tan head that settles pretty quickly, leaving some decent lacing.
Smells like fresh tart raspberries with some vanilla. Not a big raspberry fan in beer (or in general), but this still comes off well to me.
Tastes tart enough still, with raspberries playing their dominant role in this edition of the Temptress. But the berry really hides any other sweet flavors that typically lurk in this style, or in Temptress in general.
Bitter and tart finish, nice medium feel.
The overall impression is of a lingering medicinal raspberry flavor that overpowers most resemblances of the stout from Lakewood we've come to love. Some underlying chocolate/ white chocolate, just some. Good, but not like their regular version.
Unless on-tap and/or a year+ of age is the better way to enjoy this, I'll stick to the original next time, as well as seek out the bourbon barrel edition.

A: Nice, dark and black with a small tan head. No light.

S: Oh man this smells wonderful... chocolate-covered raspberries, cocoa, vanilla... mmmm.

T: Hands down- amazing. The flavor on this beer is impressive: Sweet chocolate, raspberries, dark fruits, syrup, sweet milk, sugar cane, oats. So nicely balanced.

M: Thick and super smooth. Velvety. It's got that lovely after taste of raspberry chocolate.

O: This beer is quite amazing. I didn't know what to expect. Blew my mind! It would be awesome if it were made more often, or even in bottles!

L: Black. Off white head with nice lacing.
S: Some raspberry tart in the scent. Alcohol.
T: Chocolate in the front. Raspberry sweetness and tart in the back.
F: Light for a stout. More carbonation than I recall having in the other Temptress versions.
O: Definitely a good one. I'm partial to the Sin Mint variety of Temptress, but if you like raspberry, you'll like this.
