Dark body and a thick brown head erupts off a strong pour. Leaves lots of lacing. Looks tempting...
Big chocolate notes and the raspberry is fairly present. Roasty and sweet.
All the same Temptress flavor is there but with an added pop of raspberry. This seems sweeter to me than the regular. The berry makes itself known more mid palate and pops bigger at the end and lingers a bit in the finish.
The Temptress has a luxurious body that feels good on the tongue.
The raspberry addition is a winner for me. Sounds like bottles next go around. Can't wait!

A: Nice, dark and black with a small tan head. No light.
S: Oh man this smells wonderful... chocolate-covered raspberries, cocoa, vanilla... mmmm.
T: Hands down- amazing. The flavor on this beer is impressive: Sweet chocolate, raspberries, dark fruits, syrup, sweet milk, sugar cane, oats. So nicely balanced.
M: Thick and super smooth. Velvety. It's got that lovely after taste of raspberry chocolate.
O: This beer is quite amazing. I didn't know what to expect. Blew my mind! It would be awesome if it were made more often, or even in bottles!

Served on-tap at the brewery release party on 2/15/14. 250ml poured into a Lakewood Tulip glass. Reviewed from notes.
Appearance: Thick and opaque black, with coppery hints of red raspberry when held up to the light. No head, but an eggshell crown forms around the edge and leaves behind some sparse lacing.
Smell: Lots of lactose sugar, characteristic of the Temptress base beer. Raspberry comes through strongest here, and roasted coffee and fruity dark chocolate make their presence known too.
Taste: The dark roasted coffee of the base beer shines again on the palate. Lactose sugars are present throughout. Dark chocolate plays second fiddle to a lightly tangy raspberry. Raspberry is most evident on earlier sips, before the berries fade into a vague fruity tang toward the bottom of the glass. The finish is bitter and barely acidic, like black coffee.
Mouthfeel: Thick, and with a relatively high carbonation for the style, but certainly not too much. The beer sticks around in the mouth forever, the bitter, tangy finish lasts forever.
Overall: Please bottle this next year, Lakewood. This is delicious in every way. The raspberry is there but doesn't make the beer too sweet, and the smell is just fantastic.
