Poured on-tap into a glass at Craft & Growler in Dallas. Reviewed from notes.
Appearance: Deep dark brown, almost black but not quite. A coffee milk colored head but disappears quickly and was hardly substantive to begin with.
Smell: Typical Temptress roasty milk chocolate and coffee. Some cinnamon comes though, but not particularly strong.
Taste: Milky, bitter coffee and chocolate. Not much more chocolate than a normal bottle of Temptress has. Some cinnamon, but relatively faint. Chilies blend in with the alcohol burn on the finish, with a faint roasty, smoky quality from the chilies. With the cinnamon I was expecting a more Hunaphu like experience, but this is more like Bomb with a Temptress base. Not like that's a bad thing.
Mouthfeel: Not particularly thick, but a long, burning linger. Carb is prickly at first but fades quickly and the beer is quite smooth by the finish.
Overall: Another solid offering from Lakewood. I would have preferred a lot more cinnamon, but the beer was very good regardless. I'm looking forward to future Temptress variants!

On draught at The Bottle Shop in Dallas Texas. This is a special release beer from Lakewood. It is their Temptress Imperial Milk Stout brewed with ancho, chipotle, guajillo and pasilla chiles, along with cinnamon and cacao nibs (from a local dallas chocolatier).
A - Poured into a tulip glass. Almost opaque in the glass. Small head, nice brown color, lingered for a few minutes.
S - Smells of chile spice with sweet notes. Alcohol is noticeable.
T - Vanilla and cinnamon at first, changing to smooth chipotle spice with chocolate and milk/lacto notes, with lingering chile finish. Does not drink like a high alcohol beer.
M - Like a good milk stout, it has a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel.
O - Really nice milk stout. I'm a Temptress fan and this one just turns up the flavor to 11.

Draft at the Meddlesome Moth - finished with this one after a couple of hoppy brews
A - came in a 16oz pint glass. Black with minimal head and light lacing
S - Funny part is, the pepper was subdued. Could pick up on the spices Cinnamon seems to be the predominant smell here.
T - Wow not what I expected. I've pretty much tried any pepper beer this was quite possible the most well balanced I've ever had. You get a chocolate and cinnamon up front but then the chilie peppers hit you at the end along with what seems to be nutmeg Not in a bad way though.
M - Medium carbination and the pepper lingers but very, very light...
O - I've never had the opportunity to try their others as I travel. But I will say this is definitely worth seeking out and you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's extremely well balanced and definitely the best hot pepper beer I've had to date. I've had close to 10 at this point.

Draft pour at the brewery doesn't leave much tanned bubbly head on a black body.
Pepper skin, cinnamon, sweetness, and dark chocolate. Smells like dessert after reaching warmer temps.
The pepper is really light while it goes heavy on the cinnamon and sweetness. There is some chocolate and the slightest bit of roast.
Temptress is always smooth and easy drinking.
I love the additions to the beer although I wouldn't mind a touch more chile.
