No bottle date to be found, poured into a tulip...

Beautiful looking beer, one finger full head with great sticky lace retention on the glass. Solid black with light brown foam. Light chocolates on the nose with some solid cookies and milk finish. Taste is very dry, almost like a Irish stout. Dark chocolate and vanilla in the finish as well. Some oak and oats as well. Mouthfeel is medium body, low carbonation and smooth.

Overall, this is a very good beer but just missing on some parts for me. The finish is a little to dry and missing some of the creaminess i was hoping for. I'd like a bottle date as well. You don't see Imperial Milk Stouts all the time and this is a good representation. I enjoyed it.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tall goblet.

A - Pours a very dark opaque brown, almost black. Barely half a finger of light tan head that doesn't last more than a couple minutes. Decent lacing.

S - Dark roasted malts, sweet chocolate.

T - More sweet chocolate with some caramel and vanilla notes.

M - Heavy like a milk stout and full of sweet flavors up front, but just enough carbonation and bitterness to finish cleanly.

O - This is the first imperial milk stout I've ever had, and it's inspiring me to look for more. I love how it's sweet but not overly syrupy and has enough bitter zing to finish cleanly.

Bottling date is smudged - no go.

A: Pours a very dark brown with a tall, light and frothy light brown head. Great head retention with decent splotchy lacing.

S: Sweet, creamy chocolate and vanilla. Light char mixing in here and there, maybe with some coffee?

T: A flood of super sweet and super creamy chocolate. Lots of vanilla floating around, especially as the chocolate fades a bit in the middle and finish. Finish is some roasty char, burnt bread type flavor with light coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Long lingering burnt bread and cocoa in the aftertaste, almost drying now.

M: Medium bodied, creamy and smooth.

O: Yum. A great contrast of very sweet chocolate and vanilla and then the crisp, bitter burnt toast flavors in the finish. Great milk stout.
