Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Weizen glass.
Appearance: Pale cloudy yellow. Looks orange when held away from the light. A relatively aggressive pour plus the high carbonation produces a fast forming foamy head but subsides faster than I would like without much lacing.
Smell: Strong banana, tangy wheat and some clove. Stronger than typical aroma for the style.
Taste: Great balance of banana, wheat and clove, with all three flavors firing on all cylinders. There is also a hint of floral hops. The wheat is a little sweeter than expected from the tangy aroma.
Feel: Pretty high carbonation, with a very smooth, creamy, medium body. Mostly dry finish.
Drinkability: Outstanding Hefe, very authentic. This is the second Hefe I have had recently that is almost as good as Schell's but not quite.

Draft served in the awesome, appropriate glass at the brewery. Prost’s Weisbier is a gorgeous, glowing orange-golden in color with a thick, rich sheet white head that retains well and leaves heavy lace. This was a fantastic hefeweizen, and easily in my top tier of both domestic and international versions. A flavorful wheat body brings a balanced sweetness and bready character with a generous hand of banana and clove - rich, round, and delicious. Lots of yeast and a little secondary spice complexity. Grassy hops and flits of dried citrus. Creamy, full carbonation and a moderate body. All kinds of things going right with this beer.

The Prost Brewery is beginning to grow on me for various reasons. Their Dunkel and Pils are sublime, but the one that always seems to irritate me is the WeiBier. I have had the Weibier on numerous occasions over different months and it never tastes the same. I was told this was due to brew temps changing. I'm not sure I agree with that statement. Sometimes the clove taste is barely there while other times the banana aroma is not present at all. The last time through it was almost acrid in taste, with a steel after taste and harsh finish. Not what one would expect from a now established brewery.
I have a strong passion towards Weissen's in general and really want to see Prost get this one right. After all it is a GABF winner.
Consistency in brewing will make this beer a home run, and I hope Prost can get and keep it there.

Reviewed at Cosby Campground, Smoky Mountain National Park, TN. Full notes taken.
A- Golden bodied with a haziness from both yeast and wheat. The head is white with a consistency between foamy and frothy. Fair retention as the cap dies to a very thin ring and some small islands. Lacing is thin and spotty.
S- Heavy, crusty wheat cereal comes to mind right off the bat with strong notes of spicy hops, zesty fruits and some yeast spice as well.
T- Seems to be pretty much balanced yeast and grains, mostly the crusty wheat. Spicy, grassy noble hops do come into play but citrus zest, yeast spice, wheat bread, clove and light apple and banana esters are the prevailing force.
MF- Just lighter than medium bodied for the style with a creamy and silky feel. Carbonation is high with a crisp and soothing agitation to the palate.
Quite solid for an American made Weissbier. The yeast doesnt explode and totally dominate the beer with over the top spice and is actually quite balanced with the crusty wheat grain notes.

Poured from the jug into my Tawandang weissbier glass from Bangkok. A lovely cloudy amber brew. Beautiful white foam in the tall glass. Spicy aromas.
Tart with the classic German esters. Hugely aromatic in the nose. This just seems very elegant and well made, everything in balance. Sensually malty, but a thinner body, perhaps, than some in this style. The cloves are complemented with something like tangerine. Rich yet thoroughly refreshing.
Really a tremendous Hefeweizen and great to see it available in growlers. From the half-gallon bought at Mayfair Liquors in Denver.

Beautfiul pour, huge, thick, creamy head with lovely soapy lacing down the sides of the weizen glass. Beautiful unfiltered haze, with a lovely campfire-like orange glow to light. Head is remarkably huge, even with the aggressive pour. The aroma in the glass in classic weissbier; spicy clove, hint of banana, upfront wheat malts less yeastiness than expected but still present. Taste is equally as captivating. The yeast is more prominant here, more bready malt with a perfectly hopped finish. Fruitiness, like pears, deep in there. Mouthfeel is light and crisp, active and lively carbonation.
Wow, another great beer from Prost. Right up there with Odell's Easy Stret and Dry Dock Hefe. Damn drinkable. True German hefeweizen, from right here in Denver.

A beer brewed for summer.
Prost's Weißbier was my favorite of the four brews I tasted on my visit to the brewery because of its freshness, wholesomeness and subdued sweetness – and my non-beer-drinking girlfriend loved it, which was as nice surprise.
It pours a cidery, hazy gold with a big, fluffy head with good stay and smells like candy bananas and fresh orange juice. The smell is sweeter than the taste, although I got a fair amount of citrus sweetness balanced by a balanced, funky, malty mouthfeel.
Good on its own, but I would've loved it with some food or sunshine.

Ok, this is one of the best beers I have ever had in my life. It is a perfect balance of wheat, banana, cloves, and Bavarian style brewed cloudiness. It is clean, smooth (not crisp), and I cant explain it but I love this beer. On my quest to find the best Hefe in the world this summer, this one may be it. 2 Growlers down and 1 in the fridge.
