Our Maibock is the happy signal that Spring is finally here. Bright floral hops and a refreshingly robust malt profile create a refreshing lager that can be enjoyed any time of the year. Prost!

Had on tap. Clear golden pour with two fingers of eggshell white foam. Toasted caramel malt, lighter yeast and floral notes make up the aroma bouquet. Taste has a hint of diacetyl in the maltwork, yeast is stronger than in nose yet still so light, floral and caramel notes with cracker and slight grain rise to the top. Feel still has malt as king, so smooth and light, goes down easy on a warm May day.

L:. Pours a clear golden yellow with a medium white head and nice rings of lacing around the glass.

S:. The fresh floral hops hit you first followed by maybe a touch of rubber glove and then some light crackers malt with a hint of honey.

T:. Sweet bready malt with a hint of honey followed by nice floral hops, very drinkable.

F:. Smooth and easy drinking, medium body.

O:. This is a great beer.

Took a chance on this one because I like Maibock, even though past experience with Prost Brewing has been sketchy.

$8 six-pack at Woodman's Kenosha. Wasn't in-stock a few weeks ago. Bottle dated 05. 01. 19. Best by, or bottled on? Either way, I guess it's not too far from shelf rot. Poured into my tall Becher.

L -- Somewhat hazy, pale gold -- near to straw color, with a sudsy white head that quickly settles to a thin cap. Looking at the bottle after the complete pour there is a thin yeast cap showing at the bottom. Bottle-conditioning isn't mentioned on the label, but is probably the reason for the haziness. I'll pour the next bottle more carefully.

S -- Somewhat skunky nose -- from a brown bottle. Touch of bready malt and herbal hops. Pretty thin overall -- I'll give some time for warming. Skunk disappears with warming and more breadiness and DMS are apparent. Even a nice touch of melanoidin, and herbal hops.

T -- Lightly sweet, bready malts with a rather strong balance of spicy hops -- not overpowering, but asserting. The sweetish breadiness, with that touch of melanoidin, returns in the finish with the herbal hops lingering into the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is soft to crisp with a light-medium body and lightly dry finish.

O -- Appearance being somewhat shaky and aroma somewhat thin, the flavor of this beer redeems. It hides its 6.9 ABV (on my 2019 label) very dangerously. Maybe not my favorite Maibock, but it's a good rich lager for those times when a straight German Pils or Helles just isn't enough.

On-tap @ Rhein Haus in Denver, CO.

Deep gold color. Big beady malt aroma backed up substantially by noble hops. Sweet malt flavor that is strong yet not heavy. A nice bite from the hops but this is balanced towards the hops, as a Maibock should be. Medium-full bodied and clean. A really nice representation of the style.

I tried ordering a Prost Altbier but they were all out and had replaced the tap with Maibock. No harm at all, this was delicious!

Pours brite gold, thin white head. Cracker malt aromas, floral hops, hint of sulfur. No dms, no diacetyl. Cracker and bready malts give way to gentle floral hops, a touch of mineral crispness. Medium mouthfeel, well carbonated, slight bitterness lingers on the tongue inviting you for another drink. Great showcase of pilsener malt, floral noble hops, and clean fermentation profile. I love this beer.

Taste: slight herbal grassy hop, some malt in the clean finish. Mild grain and garden-like hop nose. Gold, mostly clear, big foamy head with some lace. Medium body. Some bite. 20 IBUs

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet caramel and roasted malt with a grassy, sharp bitterness.

There are styles I associate with summer, fall, winter, but not Spring. Hello Maibock! Pours a golden cloudy amber, smells of malt, a balanced taste of malts and hops with floral, grassy, fruity notes. Crisp, refreshing mouthfeel. Beautiful.

Nice golden color, small head, nice sweet smell, not over powering. The taste is of a nice Maibock, but don't be fooled, it is currently being brewed at 6.9%. Overall a great beer!
