B1, bottle 893. Cheers to the guy working at Chuck's for pointing out this bad boy that was sitting behind the counter! Nice to deal with a real beer guy. It's less common than you'd think, even in killer places like Chuck's.

A. Pours a really nice orange with a touch of amber, half a finger of thick, sticky looking head that fades to a skim.

S. This hit me as I was pouring it. Massive red grapefruit, mango and mandarin orange, some sweet pale malts, some fresh pine wood.

T. Nice sweet malt and resinous hops that build as we go. Before that building grassy, resinous piney bitterness, there's some nice citrus and a little bit of sweet tropical fruit.

M. Medium+ body, medium-low carbonation.

O. Yeah, get it if you can. The bro behind the counter saw my fremont tipa and other .rar's, knew I was a bro, and totally bro'd down with me pointing this one out. Cheers to this bro, and all the other bros out there helpin' bros out. We gotta stick together. Bro.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger whtie head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, orange family citrus, a little apricot and tropical fruit, citrus and piney hops with a hint of dankness. Flavor starts semi-mild, with a nice mildly biscuit and caramel malt, then the hops really start asserting themselves, piney and dank with grapefruit and tangering rind. Finishes with assertive hop bitterness, but with a pleasant memory of the lightly fruity balanced malt. Medium bodied with light creaminess and great carbonation. Anticipating an imperial IPA hop onslaught, I thought the name of this would be redundant, but I have to say that this is a sneaky one and the the initial flavors lulled me into thinking this would be a mellow IPA. The finish really did make think "Wow (Blimey) this is really hoppy!" Aptly named with a really well done flavor progression and great resiny, flavorful hops. Missed this rare beer several times, but snagged one of the recently bottled ones. Well worth the wait. A brewery that just keeps getting better.

Pine and citrus overload but what's amazing about this is the crispness and dryness at the strength. I've never had a 10%+ IPA that felt so light, refreshing almost. This has poise and grace on top of the incredible strength.

I suppose the beginning is as good a place to start as any.
This is a gorgeous brew. A hazy orange-amber, that might trick your mind into seeing shades of reddish-copper, but really it's just that red dress distracting you. Maybe a finger of beatifuly billowy white head, settles in nicely to that so-loved ring and patches pattern. Wondrous lacing.

Nose is sweet caramel and tropical fruits to start. That's like... exactly what I want to smell right now. Warm citrus (more satsuma/tangerine orange than grapefruit), some other sweeter hop fruits: dried apricot and some... I can't quite catch it.

The flavour starts out with many of the same ideas, but brings down the hammer of the name fairly short after that. A gentle slope of caramel and tangerine and apricot soon gives way to a decidedly bitter that cycles between citrus pith, deep woods pine and juicy grapefruit in the upper balconies. The smoothe sweet malt current that runs underneath holds it all together, but this one is a showcase for the hops. Perfectly balance body is thick enough to provide support without distracting from the main effect, while the carbonation is somewhat reserved and the occasional spikes augment the hops without distracting and shining any light on themselves. If you like hops and well constructed big Multi-IPAs, this should be a must-have. If you don't like hops... why are you looking for a TIPA??!? Chalk up another win for the local kids.
