A: JackCrow and I walked in about 1PM on a cold Saturday and grabbed a seat in a small corner of a industrial garage space. The inside is outfitted with makeshift tables, chairs and booths. Nice big chalkboard rests above the serving area where you pretty much walk up and take your pick. The atmosphere can be a bit stale but the chatter of other patrons break any odditys. Lazerlobe joined us and contributed to the chatter. There seemed to be a lot of new patrons discovering this place for the first time.

Q: Everything we had was pretty solid; ranging from average to very good. I gave them a bump in the score because I truly enjoyed my Imperial Rye IPA.

S: No issues. Most of them are within earshot if you need to ask a question but they are also pretty reserved. Not bad in any way and rather talkative once you get them going.

S: 12 to 15 house beers!? Pretty amazing for a small space and to be so new to the scene. I believe the server told me that had a 5bbl system on site and another 10bbl system across the way. Selection ranged from Imperials IPAs, to Robust Porters to a belgian Pale

F: Pretzels.

If I were in Ballard I would make two places my local, frequent stops: Noble Fir and Reubens. (1,214 characters)

I love Reuben's Brews. Incredible beers and very good service. Not much more you can ask for. There is plenty of seating though on a sunny weekend day it can get really crowded. Love all the beers, but especially the Porter and Stout (233 characters)

Visited the old place, couple months before the move and I can see why they need to move. Busy and popular they need the extra space. Still nice people though. (159 characters)

Stopped in at Reuben's today for a sampler tray and to really drink in the atmosphere. My last visit, I was part of a roving saloon cycle and didn't really get a chance to develop an informed opinion of the place.

I really like Reuben's. The tasting room is actually the brewery; mash tuns and other equipment are moved to the side so tables can be brought out. Behind the service window where beers are poured, there is a big pegboard filled with metal clamps, plastic hose and other brewing accoutrements. You really know you're in a brewery here. There are only a handful of tables, and they are small, so it would be hard to visit here with a big group. But when the weather is nice, they open up an outside drinking area which is quite pleasant.

And the beer -- the beer is very good. Reuben's is doing some great things with rye, as well as brewing classic styles very well. I will definitely be heading back the next time I'm looking to wet my whistle in Ballard. (980 characters)
