Shows a cloudy gold color. Modest white colored head with reasonably poor retention. I would argue that clarity is an important element to a Kolsch-like beer.

Very subtle malt aroma, otherwise quite clean. Possibly a bit cidery as it warms.

Nice malt/hop flavor balance, though probably hoppier than anticipated. A bit of sulfur taste? Subtle lingering hop bitterness.

Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. No astringency or alcohol warming. A bit "spritzy" on the tongue.

A flavorful example of a Kolsch-type beer. Balance maybe a bit too much toward hop, but a decent light tasting ale.

Appearance: slightly hazy, golden (imagine that) hue, white head not much lacing.

Smell: grainy

Taste: balanced, grains and malt paired with the counter balance of light floral hops. Nothing too exciting.

Mouthfeel: not too robust, about what you would expect.

Drinkability: I wouldn't get again, not great not terrible, but hey they were giving it away when you walked in the door at Vine Street. Thanks!

On-tap at Mountain Sun's Vine Street Pub.

A: Very hazy straw colored beer. White head is small, with OK retention. Leaves a little bit of lace.

S: Fruity with hits of apple, citrus and grass.

T: Pretty mild stuff. Malt is a little sweet with a husky quality. Hops are more floral than bitter, with light citrus flavors. The bitterness level is just high enough to balance the malt. Finishes very clean.

M: Light body with the right amount of fizz. Feels a touch grainy.

D: Not that exciting. I'm pretty convinced that this style is meant for the American Macro drinker who doesn't want to stray too far off the beaten path. A nice session beer nonetheless, and a good example of the style.

Not one of my favorites from the Sun, but here it goes. This brew is a clear yellow with a light tan head. The nose and taste are a bit light even for a blonde. Some grainy malts and quiet hops. The body is also quite light and downable. A decent brew, but I expect more from teh sun.

This is a pale yellow body capped by a nice fluffy white head. Yet that went away rather toot sweet quickly.
Smells like a lager. Grain and malt sweetness. Sticky. I think this is a lager.
Tastes like a lager. Thin, malty. Like a Bud on a malt kick. Not very pleasant, but not bad. Perhaps I'm just an ale guy, this one doesn't do it for me.
Still, a nice drink. I think its mislabeled.
