On nitro
Appearance - Quite black and topped with a nice thick creamy light tan head. Good retention, and lacing.
Smell - Not really a whole lot going on here just the typical malty, roastyness. Still inviting though.
Taste - Hits the mouth sweet, then the roasted malt coffee flavors come through. The finish is just a little hop bitterness to cleanse.
Mouthfeel - Smooth, creamy, and slick. I love nitro!
Drinkability - This is a very good quaffer, even more so on nitro. Highly recomend, even more so on nitro. NITRO!

On nitro tap at Vine St; poured into a tulip.
Appearance - dark, but shows plenty of mahogany against the light. Thin, white head that leaves superb lace!
Smell - a tame chocolate milk nose.
Taste - creamy cappuccino; mild, not too sweet.
Feel - a bit light, but some complexity that makes it enjoyable.
Overall - a modest stout that is nice to kick back with.

on tap at Vine Street for sout month. pours a classic rich nitro creamy dark color with a good mocha colored head. smells not at all like a milk stout, there is no sweet sting in the nose. just plenty of roasted malts and a buttery smell. flavor is only a tad sweet from the lactose sugars, but not like many sugary milk stouts. this one has notes of coffee in there too, but only subtly. very rich mouthfeel, fully full bodied, with a nice silky feel. it is different in a way i cant characterize, but it is delicious. i am yet to have a bad beer from these guys

On tap at Vine Street Pub for Mountain Sun Stout Month.
Some literature:
"Korova Cream Stout: Here, we reveal a little Hollywood influence with a Clockwork Orange reference. Buffs may recall that the "Korova" was the milk bar frequented by the droog gang. Also, "Korova" happens to be Russian for "cow". While Mountain Sun and extravagance are polar opposites, we found "Korova" was creative and apt. This beer is definitely rich and creamy. lactose intolerants beware!
Malts: Marris Otter, English Pale, Munich Malt, 120L Crystal Malt, Black Malt, Chocolate Malt, Victory Malt, CaraPils Malt, Roasted Barley
Hops: Fuggle
OG: 1.066
4.7% ABV"
A - The beer arrived pitch black with a thin creamy nitro head. Decent retention and some lacing.
S - A fairly light blend of roasted barley, coffee, and chocolate.
T/M - A creamy beer that starts with the same character found in the nose. The beer is mild bitter and is creamy. Pretty solid mouthfeel.
D - Decent drinkability.
Overall, during Stout Month there are a number of beers I'd choose over this.
Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

One of six stouts we shared last night at the Vine Street Pub during Stout Month. Poured a creamy black color with a tight, dense light brown head. Very mild aromas of milk chocolate, cream and roasted malt. Medium bodied, creamy and kind of bland, milk chocolate and lightly roasted malt. The biggest disappointment of the night.

This is a very smooth stout, perhaps too much so. The appearance is really nice. Black and smooth, nice dense off-white head sits on top just waiting. Lacing is pretty good. Would like to see a bit darker head..this is too much like Guinness to get a '5'.
Aroma is light. Chocolate and burnt anise, some roasted malt, coffee, toffee and lactose.
The taste is light and the complexity perhaps is hidden by the creaminess. Chocolate and coffee dominate...chocolate with the lead. Sweet after that and then the two just kind of fade. Aftertaste is quashed by the creaminess.
This is a nice 'feeling' beer, and drinks well. Yet the flavors are either weak or overshadowed by the smoothness.

On tap as part of Stout Month at Vine St Pub in Denver, CO.
A: Black with a dense tan head that retains quite well. A generous lace is left behind.
S: Heavy on the chocolate, with only a hint of coffee and burnt wood aromas. Definitely on the sweet side of the stout spectrum.
T: The chocolate theme continues with a bittersweet baker's chocolate flavor right out of the gate. Espresso notes seep in next. A mild burnt bitterness rounds things out.
M: Super creamy, with the right amount of carbonation.
D: This is a very nice session stout. I was quite happy I ordered this. Definitely my favorite of the three Mountain Sun stout offerings I've had to date.

Black color with a creamy tan head. Leaves nice lacing down the glass. Lots of sweet and roasted malts with some caramel and toffee. The taste was again very malty with hints of creamy milk and coffee. Medium body complimented well by the nitro. Very tasty brew.

i think it is korova cream stout. i lived in boulder county for 4 years, and this stout was one of the things i did not want to leave behind when we were weighing leaving. it was not always available at either the southern sun or the mountain sun, and i was always lucky to get it on nitro. i don't know what it is like off nitro, but on nitro it is a quintessential cream stout: no flaws whatsoever. wonderful colour, wonderful head, complex flavours, and dangerously drinkable.
if you're ever planning a trip to colorado, call the southern sun or mountain sun and plan your trip around this stout's availability.

I wrote it as "Korova Cream Stout" while at the brewery. Maybe a subsequent reviewer could confirm whether it is Konora or Korova or somethign else.
App - Completely opaque appearance, with a small, creamy tan head. Retention fairly poor, but leaves behind some lacing.
Arom - Smokey/cofee aroma, and a strange olive-like smell as well.
Flav - Nice lactose sweetness smoothing out the dark malt. No hop flavor, or obvious hop bitterness. Dark malt roasty character evient, but balance is maybe too sweet with the stout character too subdued. Roasted barley drying lacking (even in the background), and it finishes slightly sweet.
MF - Moderate body and low carbonation. Exceptionally creamy on the N2.
Drink - A very gentle stout. Creamy and tasty, but maybe too much cream and not enough stout.
