Appearance - This is a piss yellow in color with little of the head that other reviewers mentioned.

Smell - The delicate hope aroma that I've come to expect from the style was overbearing and heavy-handed in this example. The grain was rough and unpleasing.

Taste - The hops came through better at the taste but the grain left a nasty, almost rotten aftertaste that ruined the drinking experience.

Mouthfeel - This was light-bodied but felt heavy on the tongue due to the lack of quality carbonation.

Sinkability - I've got much better things to do in my life than finish this dud.

Found this beer at a local Publix in Florida.

A- Very nice pour of golder liquid with a wonderfully fluffed head that falls to a well balanced quarter inch top. Nice lacing sticks to the glass. Beautiful beer.

S- Smell is so-so with hints of malt upfront on the nose with mild followings of hops and yeast.

T- Small bitter front with good notes of yeasty malty flavors. This is a well balanced pilsener. Has the mild hop bitterness with a stable amount of malty kick to all and all make a good taste.

M-D- Mouthfeel is easy and has a mild astringent feel from the hops. Yeasty on the end with nothing foul. Very drinkable, but not for the price. (8.49 6pk)

From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue V:

Finally, the traditional 500mL bottle has arrived. This is the same bottle size that a German would get, yet it comes in a reusable plastic carrier that holds 20 bottles. Now if we could only convince the US consumer this is more practical.

The lacing from a hard pour leaves a lively crest on the glass--right-to-style clarity shows its bright golden yellow color. Fragrant hop aroma of earthy, minty wild herbs and fresh cut grass, clean through and through. Crispness rides on top with a big refreshing character, smoothness rolls over the palate and cleans house with a fluffy moderately-sized body. Bitterness is drawn out and does not simply hit the taste buds with one whack. Within that it throws a smattering of lemon, herbal, faint mint and spicy flavor. The dry malt backbone sustains and holds this beer together very well. Crusty baguettes come to mind as it wraps up.

Looking for a straight up, everyday Pils? Here it is.

I didn't mind this beer at all. A very crisp and refreshing pils with a fairly unique, spicy and interesting hop character ... and a slighly sweet, bready/grain rounding malt sweetness and medium body. Loved the pillowy creamy white head and its retention too. Aroma was typical though -- light sulfur, grain with delicate herbal hops on the side.

Easy drinking ... with some character.

Presentation: 11.2 oz brown bottle with a white a gold label, “Enjoy the best taste before” date and a blurb about the beer in the back label.

Appearance: Mild haze amongst the stiff straw colour and topped with a white fluffy and creamy head that leaves a web like lace down the glass.

Smell: Faint white grape and a noticeable spicy herbal hop in the clean aroma, fresh husked grain in the nose too.

Taste: Light to medium in body and powdery crisp mouth feel. Light but sturdy malt flavour, grain flavour start to finish. Sharp bitterness that hits as soon as the carbonation peaks, assertive spicy flavours with herbal, tea and dried veggie undertones are complexities the hop profile lends. Hop leaf / herbal flavour lingers further than the spiciness with a very clean grain after taste.

Notes: An easy to drink traditional German Pils, clean and quick. A very refreshing light session beer. Surely a step or two above St. Pauli Girl and Beck’s. Could make for a most excellent fall back beer to have in the fridge year round.

A buddy brought over a few cans for me to try.
Very carbonated with decent head head retention. Slightly stronger yellow than most pilsners I've seen. Nothing remarkable about the aroma, taste or mouthfeel, just better than most American pilsners I've tried. I didn't have any problem getting it down, but then again pilsner is not my favorite style of beer.

Quite the pleasant change of pace after sampling some high quality stouts, Belgians, and old ales. This pours a pale straw yellow body that is clear as a pristine mountain stream. Fluffy white head quickly diminishes into film and patchy lace. Aroma is grainy malt and spicy German hops, with a grassy hops component. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Light medium body. Taste is just right for a well constructed German Pilsener. Grainy and bready malt is happily married to the grassy and herbal hops. Aftertaste is dry and mildly bitter and astringent. Very clean and crisp. I would love to have a case of this one in the "Fridge". Ideal lawnmower beer, with elegant German class.

Growler pour from DeCiccio's in Ardsley, NY. This one flows out quite clear, light, near straw, capped by a near white puffed up head. Tiny bubble film, sheeting ring and slippery fine lace. Unexciting nose, just a hint of grass and lime. Clean tasting pils, German hops, crisp and dry. Some more light lime and an unremarkable finish. Run of the mill pilsner.

Can poured into a rounded pilsner glass.

Bright golden in colour, initially leaves behind an inch of foamy head, which dissolves after a few sips into a ring. Good little flecks of lacing, lots of big bubbles on the sides of the glass.

Nose is earthy, herbal, grassy. A bit of bread and biscuit as well, but generally the hops are at the fore. Nothing artificial, nothing tinny.

A solid, easy drinking pilsner. The bitterness creeps in at the finish, leaving a lovely tart lemon/earthy taste. Grassy, decent malt profile. Actually, I'm very much enjoying this.

Carbonation is just slightly under the level I like, but is just enough to make the brew easy to drink. The can was in the fridge for a while because of the holidays, so I factored that into my rating. A touch watery, but a great brew to knock back.

Well-made, incredibly easy to drink, cheap as all get out at the LCBO, making this along with Urquell my standard pilsner pickups. At maybe 20 cents a can more than Canadian and Budweiser, this one is one well-worth stocking up for the summer!

Served on tap in a pint glass at Disney's Epcot.

Appearance: Golden amber with a thin white head. No lacing on the glass.

Smell: Light hops.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light bodied. Taste of light bitter hops.

Overall: Good German brew. Got a mug to take home with it too.

Appearance:
Head is light and lacey... light yellow color with a slight haze.

Smell:
Slight grass with sweet onion smell. Pretty unusual, but smells very nice.

Taste:
Great smooth flavor, good balance of sweet and bitter. It's a little dry in the finish which makes it very refreshing.

Mouthfeel:
Light and crisp... clears from the tounge quickly which increases the anticipation for the next drink!

Drinkability:
A very drinkable beer... pretty much sums up all the things that are good about a pilsner. Overall a great drink!

Poured from a 12oz bottle with no freshness date. It's a pale golden color. The head is white and fluffy, sticking around a bit, hordes of bubbles coursing to the surface.

The smell is of pure grain, with just a whisper of hops. The flavor is of grain, the smallest glint of fruit, and some hops, but the blend seems a bit off to me.

The mouth is light and crisp, with a touch of buttery-ness at the end. Not a whole lot of complexity happening here. The drinkablity is high, but the flavor is somewhat lacking. I truly like a good pils, but this one is average at best.
