After hearing good things about this beer, I was seriously let down, and not too happy I had three left. It has a nice delicious dank fruity hop smell. That's where the good ends. I actually tend to prefer an IPA with a mellow malt back bone, and hop forward. This is ridiculous. I didn't realize how crucial that malt was until trying this brew. Did they even put malt in this? The beer has potential, as the hop flavor is nice, but it's so thin and poorly balanced.... and leaves a strange after taste.

Tasty treat at Little Woodrow's in Houston with old work friends. Served in a large stein with 1/2 inch head. Cloudy, which made this so much more interesting. I had four stiens. Get some.

16 oz can pours a clear gold color with an ample cap of creamy white head. Nice retention and lacing - a good looking brew.

Nose is juicy tropical fruit and Starburst candy. Aroma is quite hoppy, grains are biscuity in the background.

Taste has lots of starfruit and papaya hop flavor on the front end with a sweet malty middle. Finish is not as dry and bitter as I thought it would be. Experimental hop 05256 is certainly unique and at least as tropical as Amarillo. This is a good beer, I think I like some of Cedar Creek's offerings better, but this one is another solid addition to the lineup. I like what they are doing up there in Seven Points, TX.

Great local brew. The best smelling brew I've ever smelled. Tangerine, sweet grapefruit, and a hint of pine. Smells like fruity pebbles and sweet citrus fruit. Slightly bitter on the finish. Smooth as silk and easy to drink. I will add this brew to my regular rotation.

This pours a very cloudy golden color with an orange tinge to it.that has a thick and fluffy white head that settles to a bread like bubble pattern and and has good lacing down the glass.

The smell is very rich with a wonderfully complex hop aroma that is tart, fruity and spiced with a variety of pepper, pine and grass with subtler notes of bread, citrus and fruit.

The taste is wonderfully perfect IPA that is rich, malty goodness that has a great bitter start and finish with notes of lemon zest, bread, pine, apples and other fruity notes that are so well balanced with the bitter that the finish is clean and just right.

The mouthfeel is perfect also and rich with out being cloying; Just right.

Overall this is a perfect IPA and will be one I seek out again and again.

Thanks to Jess for the can as an extra.

Poured into a teku--my go-to glass style for IPAs--a cloudy honey-amber color, with two fingers of foamy white head that receded to a wispy layer with a thick collar; nice web-like lacing on the glass. In the nose, worty malt, dank grass, light stone fruit, ammonia. Kind of dull. There's a mild, sticky hoppiness in the taste, oily, overripe peach flesh, fairly dank, but not very fresh; chewy, bready malts, bringing in too much sweetness for an IPA; leafy bitterness and some ammonia and/or gym socks in the finish leave kind of a bad taste in the mouth. Medium body, a bit too chewy for a lower ABV beer, especially an IPA. Didn't care for this one very much.

A- nice cloudy honey color. i like the overall look of it. thin lace white head that doesnt last more than about a min

S-hops and peaches. not bad but nothing just jumps out at you either.

T-Mild bitterness and a good dose of peach at first..finishes with the hoppy bitter you want in an IPA

M-not good at this..light and quickly gone-no lingering

O- a very nice local IPA does not hold up to the deep ellum offerings but overall not the worst thing ever.

A simple IPA that can be enjoyed anywhere on any occasion...anywhere...anytime... On any occasion. Anywhere.

I feel that the fruit forward smell and taste are balanced beautifully with the bitterness of the hops. Neither quality overwhelms the other. Incredibilmente delizioso!

16 oz can

A- Nice color on this one, kind of an orange/yellow. Foamy white head.

S- The name is pretty spot on for how dank it smells. There was a little bit of citrus fruit in the nose, but mostly dank and herbal notes.

T- Very awesome taste. A fine balance between dank and citrus.

M- Carbonation was spot on, beer was not oily or abrasive. Easy to drink.

O- Very solid, awesome IPA. This should be a go-to for IPA fans. Definitely will be including this as extras in trades.

Poured into a standard pint glass. It's a medium gold beer, slightly cloudy, with a frothy top. The nose is packed with resinous hops, with a little bit of malt if you search for it. The taste: not what I was expecting. It's a very thin body, not much malt to speak of. There's bitterness loads of hop flavor, but it's watery and not that pleasant to drink. Is that the aim of the dankness? It's not very pleasant, and I have 3 more of these left that I really don't want to drink.

Appearance: Mixed bag here. It holds an impressive two fingers of bright white lace which bonded with the sides of the glass.
The haze is ridiculous, it's viscous, opaque almost yellow amber glass.Heavy particulate suspension.

Smell: Rich hop oils, citric, pine notes with hints of sugary malt base poking through. The hops are a heavy perfume.

Taste: Citric brightness, almost orange juice levels of acidity. The burn is slow to come and never really peaks, giving a lot of positive hop flavors without a harsh finish. The price still has to be paid, but it comes late in the sip and has a slightly earthy minty cleansing aspect.

Mouthfeel: Heavy body, slight froth to a mild carbonation makes for a full chew, and satisfying sips.

Overall: A nice monster, it was happy to graze on the prehistoric hop fields of what would become East Texas. There's a cask quality about this that really works, but like all IPAs, freshness is key. These are new arrivals, I'll be looking for another 4 pack of Tall Boys.

Had on tap at Jul's in a nonic pint glass.

A - 3.75 - Golden in color with tinges of Orange. Half finger of white, creamy head. Thick, spotty lacing.
S - 3.75 - Hops, light touches of pineapple, peach and mango. Very juicy, dank hop aroma.
T - 4.75 - Wow this is delicious. Sweet peaches, mangos, pineapple, orange and hops. Super juicy and tropical tasting. Not too much bitterness. Definitely a sweeter IPA, but not cloyingly so.
F - 4.50 - Nice creamy, oily semi-thick mouthfeel.
O - 4.50 - A DAMNED good, impressive IPA! Definitely recommended!

Great Texas beer. Don't buy it expecting something like the Enjoy By- this beer is supposed to be all about the dank, not the hops. And in that regard they nailed it. Absolutely the dankiest beer I've ever had. Really enjoyed the feel- crisp at first with a smooth finish, and and the tangerine and peach smell was great too.

16 oz can Poured at Sugar Shack Whole Foods Sugar Land Texas

A- Poured into Cedar Creek glass, pours an orange amber and produces thick 2 finger head.

S- Let me just say that this is “DANK”, a very good aroma that has me wanting to stop smelling and start drinking.

T- It’s “DANK”!!!! Hops up front, fruity, citrus, followed by a nice malt middle and a very nice dry citrus finish. One of the few APA’s that tastes like it smells. I really think at 65 IBU it allows for you to have more than one per session, although at 6.8% ABV you want to proceed with caution as it is so easy to drink.

M- At first, I thought their could have been a little more carbonation, but after drinking a couple of these, I think it is right in the pocket and makes this a very easy drinking brew.

O- This will be one of my go to beers when I need my hop fix and they are priced reasonably at under $8 per 4-pack of 16oz cans. Another fine Texas beer.
