16 oz can pours a near black color with a decent cap of tan head. Retention is fair and lacing is pretty non-existent.

Nose is nutty and roasty, a little fruity and definitely has some grassy hops. Not much on chocolate and really the malt in general is pretty tame.

Taste shows off more of that deep, roasty nuttiness that was so prevalent in the aroma. Almost like chewing on a coffee bean. I still feel like the malt could use a little heft and the additional sweetness would help balance the roast. The hops show a deft touch on the finish and provide plenty of bitterness, I dont get a whole lot on the flavoring side though. Its decent enough, but not really my style of porter, it is dry and roasty while I prefer mine a little more sweet and chocolaty. I have really liked all off the other Cedar Creek brews, but this one is definitely my least favorite.

Nice aroma of coffee and roasted grains. Very nice flavor: dark roasted oats, dark roasted coffee, very big chocolate flavor... Very mild hops and rather thin mouth feel. Overall, a good porter with some of the best chocolate notes I've had in beer.
