Cloudy amber with a three finger head. Some lacing.
Smell is malty with a touch of hop resin.
Taste is big resinous hops with a good amount of malts.
Mouthfeel is medium with an full amount of carbonation.
Overall a good IPA if you don't mind the sediment.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium orange amber with a half finger white head that dissipated to a thin film leaving light lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus hops, pineapple and lemon citrus, nice. Flavor of light caramel malt, tangerine and light grapefruit, with grassy, slightly citrus hops. Finishes with soft resiny hop and citrus. Medium bodied. A good, nicely made IPA that does not have the bright hops in the flavor that are evident in the aroma, but pleasant and well balanced.

Clear amber with lots of foam and lacing in the tall goblet. Light and frothy mouthfeel. Pleasant flowery aroma with a touch of pine.

Fruity and tasty with some hot orange peel. Some dank notes and a dry, blackberry seed finish. Some malt taste with a tangy edge. Rather bitter finish.

Quite decent IPA on the austere side. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner.

Picked up a can at Northgate Total Wine. Label on the can said the day before I picked it up, so it should be fresh... right? Not sure about how fresh it actually was, but I got a buttery malt bomb. Not what I was looking for.

A: Poured a yellowish hay color with some great clarity yileding a frothy white cap with decent head retention. A little white cap fades rather quickly, after a few sips it was all but gone. Minimal lacing on the glass with a light, white ring around the corners.

S: Some grass, a little husky like graininess underlying with almost no booze on the nose. A little flower bouquet comes to mind with a light undertone citrus

T: Immediate grassy, grains element hit me upfront coupled with some citrus, a little bit of boze appears but subdued. The finish is lighter on the bitterness, more grass and citrus.

M: Light-medium body. There was not much of a malt base here. Just seemed to be all hops. Which, depending on what you like, can be good or bad. It was easy to drink, well carbonated. Plenty of hops on the palate to keep you happy

O: Not a bad single IPA but not one I would routinely drink or recommend considering the overload of great IPAs in the the area and on the PNW market. However, my first Backwoods beer is a score so I will probably try the rest of the lineup out of curiosity

poured from the tap, the server drummed up a 1" creamy head that took a little while to dissipate, and that, together with the slightly foggy light golden amber color, was pleasing.

medium-light bodied, there was moderate texture, and smooth creaminess on the tongue.

the grapefruity citrus character was apparent, but not overbearing, and there was a slightly flowery or herbal quality to the flavor which gave the beer complexity. Pleasing and sippable, even as it warmed up. One possible to savor all night.

I'd place this as good as or better than many the larger brewery, McMenamins, offers. This was a solid start for a smaller microbrewing company.
