Lovely amber color with a nice foamy cap on the big nonic, Very spritzy on the tongue. Intriguing aroma of flowery hops and malty toastiness. Maybe there is some rye, which might account for the very spicy flavors. Delightful tangy aromatics-- for a while.
This stuff really does taste like grapefruit, plus the peeling. It's really bitter after the malt fades slightly. The sweet malt is so nice, then the spicy hops, and then it all goes to hell with excessive bitterness. An interesting trip, however, that will appeal to the Tongue Buckler fans. Brewer says this is 85 IBUs and made with just one hop, Centennial. On tap at California Kebab in Pacific Beach.
Serving type: on-tap
