A: The beer is crystal clear light copper in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half-finger high off white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are light aromas of bready, caramel and toasted malts in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has a bit of malty sweetness. Hints of chestnuts begin to develop as the beer warms up.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer isn’t that difficult to drink and goes down rather easily.

My first Corsican beer - friends of mine visited the island last year and had nothing but good things to say about the place - let's see how their brewskis hold up...

This beer pours a medium hazy pale golden hue, with two fingers of foamy, soapy white head, which leaves sparse webbed lace around the glass. It smells of grassy, weedy hops, and white cracker grain. The taste is earthy, chalky hops, and white grain. The carbonation is average, the body decently weighted, and a bit edgy, and it finishes very dry and kind of metallic.

A good dry lager - I don't know where the 'Amber' designation on the label comes from, nor what effect the chestnut flour had. Too much Mediterranean sun, I guess...

Pours amber with little head. Smells yeasty, sweet, nutty, and with an herbal pungency. The taste is also quite pungent. Nutty, almost metallic and medicinal, but not completely over the top. It's drinkable without being something I'd go back to over and over again. A bit ripe in the mouth. This is for sure an interesting beer, but a bit out of balance.

Yet another 2 dollar grab at the House of 1,000 beers.

A - Ah an old lager. Little to no head with a hazy amber body. Quite strange for an amber lager.

S - Good amount of caramel sweetness, lager yeasts, bread, and some more toffee sweetness.

T - Drinks with less sweetness than the nose preserves. Lager yeast in the finish with caramel and toffee malts toasty on the whole. Fruity yet dry it's not bad.

M - Light to medium easy to drink.

Overall I would love to try this fresh with more carbonation. Despite the age it's still a tasty brew.

Pours a watery iced tea brown color with a small dense cream colored head. The aroma is of a doughy malt, some raisins and honey. Didn't really expect these aromas if a fairly light brew. Taste is similar to the aroma. Doughy malt, hints of raisins, honey sweetness. I don't think I pick up much of the chestnut flavor that the label states. The feel is light almost watery with spritzy carbonation; sweet overall on the palate. A rather ho-hum brew, quite a musty/earthiness to it but also quite watery. I guess it drinks fairly easy.

Appearance: dark orange, next to no head, small carbonation

Smell: malt, corn, and a bit of wildflower

Taste: it follows the smell. Some caramel. The description on the menu I was reading spoke of chestnuts, but they are not noticable.

Mouthfeel: smooth, a sweet start, with a slightly bitter follow through..medium bodied

Drinkability: This one did not do enough for me to jump out. Very average for the style. I will not hunt this out again.

11.2 oz brown bottle.

It pours into my tulip a clear amber color, the head is fluffy and white, but leaves no lacing as it dissipates.

The smell is mild and bready, not too much to it.

The taste is definitely intriguing. There is a nutty smokiness to it that almost is reminiscent of a bacon flavor. I don't know why it is labeled as a Vienna lager here, the label states ale.

It is an interesting one, worth a try.

On tap from notes taken in 2009.
The color is a nice amber/gold color with a fast-fading white head. Some trailing and webby lacing clings the glass.
Smells of grain husk and hint of damp basement mix with a mild floral hop and caramel candy.
Sweet honey taste and caramel malt are tempered a bit by the slightly citrus hop bite.
A little back-of-the-throat hop edginess gives a sprightly tingle going down. This is a refreshing brew, despite the well-hidden the 6% abv.

Pietra Amber....on tap at DBGB Kitchen and Bar.

Appearance-an orange brown color off the bat, a two finger head rises and sits beautifully in the tulip glass.

Smell-mix of strong hop with a very bready malt nose, the smell lingers around, very potent and nice.

Taste/Mouthfeel-medium mouthfeel, bready and filling, full flavored, actually more malty than I expected but there is nice balance. Finishes with a small bit of hops leaving bits of malt and alcohol on the tongue.

Drinkability-very balanced and no issues.

Overall-a nice Vienna, a little maltier and less spicy than I'm used to in this style but it's well done and seems like a great sessioner, nice flavors. Worth a try.

Appearance: Poured into a Pilsner glass is a amber colored beer with a white head that thins out quick.

Aroma: A light dryness inthe nose. Light malt, bits of citrus, touch of nuttiness.

Taste: Little bit of a crisp mouthfeel. Caramel malts, floury, light malt sweetness with a good touch breadiness.

Notes: Overall not too bad of beer a good crispness to it and somewhat balanced. Cheers.

Enjoyed at Tartinery Nolita NYC - a must try restaurant.

A: Crystal clear light copper in color with light carbonation. It poured with a half-finger high off white head that faded fast, not much lace.
S: Not enough: light aromas of bread, caramel and toasted malts.
T: Follows the smell and adds malty sweetness. Hints of chestnuts and grass.
MF: Light- to medium-bodied.

Totally enjoyed as a pre-dinner session beer. Enjoyed two easily. Appetizing.

Pours a clear honeyed amber with one and a half fingers of soapy white head. Decent retention and minimal lace.

Grassy hops, dough, sweet sugary malt, caramel, and biscuit are what compose the nose.

Grassy hops with a bit of a funky edge to them seem to be the main focus in the taste with the sugary malts and caramel still there but less pronounced. Dough-like malt comes in the end with the grassy hops still lingering.

Mouthfeel is light and a tad creamy. Decent balance, and goes down easy.

Overall, a decent brew but one that fails to exceed the average, from the appearance down to its drinkability. A good pick if macros are the only other option, but that would be the only way I could see myself drinking this again.

look: 3 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Light amber, no head when poured into a clean glass, minimal lacing.

Smell: Small aroma of malts and sugars. Pleasing, and not very alcoholic.

Taste: Slightly stronger than expected from a lighter amber, slightly sweet and with malts and slight hop flavor dominating. Some carmel in the aftertaste. (the bottle says it is brewed with chestnut flour, I didn't taste any). Flavors fade quickly.

Mouthfeel: A medium bodied beer.

Drinkability: Surprisingly drinkable for having an ABV of 6%.

Overall: This is a fine amber, one that stands up to many generic American amber lagers. I could do with less carmel and sweetness, but still enjoy this beer. It is not an excellent beer, but a good one.

Light amber in color, with a thin, white head that fades gradually.
Smell is spiced malts, with a hint of ginger. Euro yeast aroma as well.
Taste is more spiced malts with a hint of sourness. Malts carry, becoming slightly bready, taking on a shade of toastiness near the finish. Little hint of brown sugar at the finish as well.
Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, with a bit of a watery finish. Light body.
Drinkability is good. By the taste I'd expect it to come in a green bottle. Still nothing too detracting in any aspect of this one, and it drinks easily enough.

A: Dark golden color. Moderate head.

S: Sweet with slight alcohol aroma.

T: Dry malt flavor. No evident hop flavor. Hint of chestnut flavor.

M: Medium-light body. Some carbonic bite.

D. Nice refreshing beer. A bit unusual and does not fit what most people think of when they think of an amber ale. Overall a nice beer.

Not sure why this is on BA as a Vienna, it is an ale.
