On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:
Its hazed orange color sits in the glass and is topped with a half-inch of head which leaves a little lacing around. Smell....wow! The hops are very well done, aromatic, and very pleasing. Unless you don't like grapefruit, pine, orange, and passionfruit, you should love the smell. Its taste attempts to carry the success of the aroma over, and it does to an extent, but it runs into a whisper of plastic which adds a minor disruption to the harmony. Of the good, there's sweet grapefruit, passionfruit, orange, and a dry biscuit base, kept under control with a manageable bitterness. Study sessions in school are usually slow and strenuous, but unlike the real thing, the beer Study Session is light and easygoing.
There's great potential in this beer. A small tweek or two and this beer could be the cream of the foothills.

On tap at Claremont Craft Ales in Claremont, CA.
Billed as a hoppy session ale.
Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and pine aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with some fairly subdued hop aromas and flavors.
