Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon...only 3 other people shopping and one older man working behind the counter. Pretty easy to find...just off 110, in between 25A and 25 (Jericho Turnpike).

Amazing selection, by far the best on Long Island (at least what I've seen). Two main aisles - one contained American sixpacks, bombers, some singles, and other different sizes (Rogue growler-sized bottles, 3L bottles, etc.). The other aisle was for imports...I spent all my time on the American side, as I had some specific wants.

Victory, Stone, Rogue, Weyerbacher, Ommegang, HOTD, Harpoon, DFH, Southampton....plus a lot more. I picked up a Stone Double Bastard, sixers of Hop Wallop and some Heavyweights, and a Sly Fox bomber. Most sixpacks were between 5.99-8.99 and bombers between 3.99-5.99; can't complain, especially for it being on Long Island.

My only real grudge was with the guy working there. He seemed nice enough (I asked him about NY beer laws, to see how they differed from PA...his answer was "you have to be 21 to buy beer". That was it. I asked him about case laws, splitting sixpacks, and a few other pretty basic questions and he wasn't planning on elaborating very much. Then I heard a customer ask about a particular beer (I think it was actually a Brooklyn) and his response was "I don't like beer - it's too bitter for me." I dunno...he was nice, but then he overcharged me - I bought one bottle of Heavyweight Sticken Jab and he charged me for a sixpack - but he did fix the problem after I came back into the store and explained it...

But that aside....if you're visiting LI (or live there and never noticed it), definitely pay it a visit. It'll be worth your time and they are priced very well.

Just a great store. Twenty beers on tap available in 10 oz, 32 oz and 64 oz pours with an excellent selection and variety. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Before making any recommendations they actually asked me multiple questions about what I liked and did not like. Excellent selection of cans and bottles some of which I have never seen on Long Island. As with any store you need to watch dates.

Definitely one of the better beer distributors on Long Island. They post new arrivals on Facebook (though I wish they used BeerMenus) and actually get some highly-regarded stuff, which really, only a few beer distributors on Long Island do (HBS, Syosset, and Universal are the only one's that come to mind. Beverage Plus on edge of NYC/Nassau does too.), including Pipeworks, limited-release Westbrook stuff, and Grimm. They also typically have a solid growler station line-up. They also have coupons pretty frequently, which you don't see much at the other craft-oriented distributors. They were one of very few store's who got in the most recent shipment of Marshal Zhukov's. I even bought Rosso e Marrone here, so this place definitely has someone who likes good beer placing their orders, which is much appreciated and needed in the area. They also have a really solid import selection, though a lot of their beers, import or otherwise are severely dated. Check dates when you can. I only wish they were a little closer, my two nearest distributors are not very good, to put it lightly.

He consistently gets Belgian beers nobody on Long Island has. There are maybe 900 of them, so obviously most aren't that great, but he consistently gets winners. I waited over 3 years hoping to try Gouden Carolus Tripel and last time I was there, he had it and it was one of the best I've ever had. I can't say that I know much about non-Belgian beers as they really hold no appeal for me. He's a fair guy too, took back something I bought that was dark and let me exchange it, not everyone will.

Vibe: inside is packed with beer, and you have two full aisles to browse the good stuff in comfort - one side has the domestics, the other has the imports. The back wall section and endcaps are full of more craft selections. Only catch to the place: located in a terrible area driving-wise: windy narrow roads with lots of traffic, terrible signage (you would never know its there if you weren't looking for it) - so unless you're a local or on foot, an inconvenient location.

Quality: they seem to do an average job of maintaining fresh beers, meaning you'll find some bottles past their prime, but usually the less popular beers. You can mix and match six-packs freely. Don't recall if they have prices shown. They do get in cool stuff that comes around, and every time I go there, maybe 2-3/year, I find some really cool shit.

Service: the guys on the floor are alright - reasonable-enough fellows but I've never talked beer with them really.

Selection: real good - on par with the best - lots to look at, found some real gems on those shelves - pumped up my score in this area recently, as they have stuff I don't see at other stores.

Prices: perhaps slightly more expensive on some beers, but nothing outrageous.

Revisited and update this review a few times, most recently 7/28/16

Definitely a good spot to check out on Long Island - this is a bit of a trek for me but still worth going to. They have a good selection of craft beers from many different brewers, and the nicest thing is that they tend to have many different varieties per brewer, including some that I don't see in other LI bottle shops. Everyone there seems very helpful, and the shelves are neatly arranged. The only caveat is that the bottles almost all seem very dusty, which makes me a little nervous sometimes. Because of that, I'll sometimes try other shops first but if I can't find something elsewhere I know there's a good shot that they'll have it.

Shoreline is a really good place to go. It's very similar to Big Z's except a bit smaller but the selection is pretty much the same. They have everything from Founders to allagash to alesmith. They also have a growler station which has about 6-10 beers on tap usually featuring local breweries. Overall there is usually at least one memebr on staff that is knowledgable and the prices are fair for long island. I frequently visit this place for most people that visit usually are purchasing BMC so the "harder to find" craft beers usually stay on the shelf for a long period of time (which can be good or bad) than at other craft beer distributors.

A hidden gem for snagging a huge swath of the craft brews that make it to long island... and by hidden I mean literally hidden, as in 'out of view, down a hill, on the side of an otherwise unmarked building' hidden.

Personally, Shoreline and Big Z's are my two favorite BD's on the island. Here's a quick rundown of how they stack up imho.

+ Shoreline's entire craft beer selection is sold by the bottle
+ While both have awesome selections, Shoreline tends to have more beers per brewery than Z's (typically 1.5x to 2x), which gives you a chance to explore off-the-beaten-path brews from some of your favorite breweries.
+ For some reason I feel like Shoreline has a slightly better turnover than Z's, although I'm not sure why because Z's always seems to have more traffic.
- Z's has more knowledgeable staff
- Z's growler selection of tap brew is unbeatable
- Z's is more much customer friendly, with weekend tastings and a weekly email blast for regulars to let them know what's new in stock.

---Shoreline Review---
A: Well lit, average size with 4 isles (i.e. 8 rows of shelves including the walls) about 50 ft deep each. Just under 1/2 the store is dedicated to good craft beer.

Q: This is a fairly well know spot for craftheads on long island, so the turn over on their craft beer is above average. The flipside of this is that if you really want to catch a brew with rare distribution on long island, you have to get to Shoreline within a few days of the shipment coming in.

Ser: Friendly staff, but most are just register-jockies. There are a few extremely notable exceptions who are extraordinarily knowledgeable, but they only work part time so you can't bank on them being there. On the whole, Shoreline doesn't seek out employees with beer knowledge, but every now and then their reputation just happens to draw in someone who knows what they're talking about.

Sel: Fantastic. In terms of # of beers, their selection isn't the largest on long island (although it's well above average), but the beers that they stock are the beers you're looking to drink. Their turnover is great as well (maybe the best on the island), and they're constantly bringing in new selections. One thing I love about their selection is that when they stock a brewery, they try to maximize the number of styles they stock. Last I was there they had 26 different beers from Rogue, 14 from Mikkeller's, 12 from Nonge, 8 from BrewDog, 5 from Cantillion, etc, etc. It really gives you a chance to explore beers beyond the brewer's flag ships.

It takes forever to get to this place, but it's worth the trip. Most people are in there buying BMC, so it gives you some space to peruse in peace.

Tight aisles filled with bottles and bottles of beer from around the country and around the world. Frequently rotating taps also available for growler fills. Some beers are available in refrigerators, but most of them are lining the shelves. Goose Island, Ithaca, Bear Republic, Two Brothers, Rogue, Stone...and most everything in between. I've even picked up a bottle of Cantillon here. I always recommend checking the shelf life of anything you buy, if the numbers are available. This place sometimes has really old bottles sitting around.

Good customer service. I picked up a bottle of Saison de Pipaix, and it was completely flat. I e-mailed the owner to let him know (not expecting anything out of it; if I owned a beer store, I'd want people letting me know about the quality of the brew I'm putting on my shelves), and he responded the next day with an apology and offered to credit me the bottle next time I'm in the store. That's the kind of thing that will keep me coming back to any business.

Shoreline Beverage has a facebook page and a tap app to keep you updated on what's available for growler fills. This is very helpful, especially if it's a little out of the way for you and you'd like to see what's available before you make the trek through Huntington.

Yet another easy-to-miss beer store in the Long Island town of Huntington, Shoreline Beverage is well worth the trip.

Not very many beer stores look impressive outwardly, and Shoreline is no exception. Once inside, it's got a low ceiling and a slightly cramped feel, but there's more than enough quality beer packed in there to make up for it. A long row of shelves off the to left hold a wide selection of craft, with the international stuff on the right side and the American stuff to the left. A small growler station is nestled behind the shelves next to the cooler.

There were a few dusty bottles, but they were beers that did well with aging anyway. Brews that are best fresh were indeed fresh, safely within expiration dates. Selection is beyond impressive. Lots of Goose Island, lots of Cigar City (unfortunately, still no Hunahpu's), lots of Founders, with each brewery having at least a half dozen styles represented each. Helpful shelf tags let me know what's what and how much it costs.

The staff is friendly and helpful, offering me a six-pack holder and encouraging me to pick and choose what I want. Asked about the Founders and Goose Island seasonal releases and was impressed by how knowledgeable they were. Pricing is really where this place shines. Both bombers and 12 oz bottles are at least a dollar or two cheaper than at my local. It took me all of my willpower not to blow my entire wallet on some of the gems there.

I envy beer aficionados that are able to call this quality store their local, because they are very, very lucky. It is absolutely one of the best beer stores I've had the pleasure of visiting. Will have to come up with some more excuses to visit Long Island now!

I was here a few times in the last year or two and was impressed by the selection and appearance of the place. Yesterday, I stopped in to show a friend and it seems the selection of craft brews has shrunk considerably. Now most selections higher in ABV are marked as such..WOW 10%!

I'll cut to the chase here..A sixer marked at $8.49 rung up at $13.49..I told the clerk and then proceeded to show him the tag. He said he could take something off but not sell it for $8.49 since he doesn't sell that many of that particular beer..This place left a worse taste in my mouth than Corona! Thumbs down!

Lastly regarding freshness..How well does any beer keep on a shelf in 85° heat?

Stu from Shoreline Beverage in Huntington station on Long Island is one of the best beer and soda centers. SL has a great craft beer section with almost supermarket long isles of all our favorite craft beer. For the more commercially inclined, Stu has a complete selection to satisfy any palate.
Also, he was the store to carry and showcase Germany's newest and finest beer, BLACK ART BEER GOLD & DARK. He held a hugely successfully out-door tasting that sold out his stock. Stu went out of his way to personal pick up this fine product from Brooklyn before distribution to the Island has commenced.

A big high five to Stu and the folks at Shoreline Beverage for being true to the cause of Fine Brew...

Just got back from my first trip to Shoreline and paint me impressed. I was on a little tour of some of the beverage places in the area with a small list of brews to search for based on recommendations, general curiosity, and some things to grab for trade.

As soon as I walked in the shop I was asked if I needed help looking for something (and I hadn't even pulled out my list). I figured I'd start and ask for a few of the Ommegang seasonals that I'd been looking for and having some trouble finding and was working on setting up trades for...BOOM, they had them all. As I strolled the aisles a few times, each time I noticed something else on my list that I had been looking for in other local spots but hadn't seen yet. Far and away the best selection of the spots in the area (and there are quite a few good spots within 5 to 10 miles IMO). Prices seemed right in-line with what I'd seen in all the other local beverage centers if not a buck or two up or down depending on what you were looking for. I'll definitely be back often so that I can sample more from my list.

The kicker that really blew me away about this place is that as I was putting my final selections on the counter to check out, I asked if they carried any glassware for sale. They said they did not, and then the guy behind the counter, who seemed to be the boss, said he'd check in the back if he had one that he would give me. I had picked up only 4 seasonal Ommegangs and a Unibroue giftset that came with 2 glasses (I occassionally buy a gift set to help build up my collection of glasses while scoring a few great brews taboot). I imagine that plenty of people make the drive on LI to this place and drop way more cash, so I thought it was a real stand up thing for him to do. I've spent much more in a beer shop (heck single kegs cost more than what I spent) and never got tossed a glass so I was very impressed.

As the other reviews state, the selection here is very impressive.

The problem is that the proprietor is not a stand up businessman. I usually get my co2 tanks filled at a fire extinguisher place in Northport (Ken-Mar) but seeing that Shoreline now has co2 I thought I would pay a little extra and pick it up closer to home. I go to get it filled and find out it is a tank exchange, not a fill. I somewhat reluctantly hand over my tank and receive another in its place. A month later the tank is empty. It normally takes me over a year before I need a refill. I bring it in to see what gives, thinking that maybe they accidentally gave me an almost empty tank. Stew thinks for a moment and tells me to bring it to Ken-Mar and tell them the story, stating that they won't know that they didn't fill it for me.

What kind of businessman pawns their problem off on another company? Keep in mind that this is the same guy who "accidentally" oversold a beer fest a few years ago by something like 3 times that amount of tickets than the venue could hold.

In the end I went to Ken-mar and paid the normal price but told them what Stew said to do. Turns out that the tank I got in the swap needs a washer where mine had one built into it and that is why it ran out so quickly.

Not being a fan of shady people I will not be back there unless I need something I can't get elsewhere.

Shoreline Beverage has the best large bottle selection that I have seen so far on Long Island. I frequent most distributors in the Huntington and Smithtown area, and this has the best selection of micro-brews around. The prices are average compared to the other stores in the area, but the selection is tremendous and dare I say worth the premium to keep this place stocked with the massive variety. The Growler Station is also a very cool aspect of this place as most other places don't have 5 brews on tap for sale and carry out. Great niche place for any beer lover in the area.

Awesome selection- one row of imports and one of American beers. Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen (only place I've seen Schaerbeekse), Nogne, Mikkeller, Olfabrikken, Jolly Pumpkin, Southampton, Captain Lawrence, Goose Island, Bear Republic, Hair of the Dog among many many others. Small tap station (4 taps I think) that's been slowly improving. Also offers the option of a 10 oz. growler fill, which is pretty unique. Prices are ok, can be slightly more expensive than other stores in the area (Big Z's). One negative is that the service (including the manager) doesn't really seem to know much about craft beer. (For example, one time I was waiting at the register, there was a phone call and the person wanted to know if Shoreline carried Elysian Pumpkin. The worker had no idea and asked if that "was the one with the fish on the bottle." Then he bumbled around trying to look for it, but didn't even have an idea of where it might be. Meanwhile, I knew exactly where it would be because I have frequented the store a lot). Another downside to the massive selection of Shoreline is that (certain) beer tends to sit for awhile. Anyway, you still should check this place out, because it does have an incredible selection.

I have only been there a couple of times but they have brands I didnt even think they sold on the east coast such as bear republic and great divide. I'm sure there are tons of others but those were just a few I noticed. If I had to make a criticism it would be that alot of the bottles are dusty as hell and thats alittle unnerving. With that being said, if your on the island and you like micro brews take a trip here, you wont be dissappointed.

This place has the best selection of beer on Long Island, hands down. I make the drive to Huntington, which is about a half hour drive for me each way, specifically to go here (which is saying something, with gas prices the way they are). I especially appreciate the fact that I can often find things I didn't even know were available in NY, because I always like to try something new, from as many breweries possible. Check out their website for the list, but call to see if it's actually in stock.

Last weekend I went and picked up the following noteworthies: St. Somewhere's Lectio Divina Amber Ale, Sierra Nevada's Southern Hemisphere Harvest Fresh Hop Ale, Fort Collin's Major Tom Pomegranate Wheat and Double Chocolate Stout, and Domaine DuPage's French Style Country Ale.
(Just to give an example, and these were all just recently in).

I subscribe to their email list so I can find out what new in the store, with some help from Stu, who works there, who's very knowledgable, and has given me good suggestions. I highly recommend joining their list if you're in the area, so when something comes in you can be the first to know (unfortunately, I have found if you don't go pretty soon after you get the email, it's already sold out, which is pretty frustrating).

On another sour note, I also like to know what's new here because with so much selection, there's bound to be stragglers and as we all know, not all beer is dated, but beer does not have the longest shelf life. I have bought some expired beer here, which of course I only realized after I went to drink it (but I've found this problem pretty much everywhere I go, but that's another story altogether). I've learner to forgive them because of the rarer finds I can get here. So when in doubt, I stick to the high ABV beers...

Also notable is there growler filling station, where you can get a fresh filled growler from a selection of 5 always changing beers. I like that they list on the website what's on tap so I can decide what I want before I get there.

Fantastic store. They get the best beers, period. Hair of the Dog, Nogne, Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, Rochefort top the list of brews I was shocked to find on little ol' Long Island. They might not have the biggest breadth of selection at any given time compare to other stores with the brews I listed, but when you have so many top beers, who needs random, mediocre beers cluttering the shelves? Store is also kept at a nice, cool temperature for the beers, a nice touch. I don't generally get involved with the service in stores, but they seemed knowledgeable enough to me. Prices might be 50 cents higher than stores elsewhere, but, ya know. Top of the line shoppe.

Update:
This place still has one of the best selections on the Island, but my review has been edited due to quality and service. The last few times I have been in there the service has been non-existent (seemingly no one in the store knows anything about beer) and a bunch of products seem to be on the shelves for too long (and the growler offerings have taken a bad turn). I will still recommend this place because it does have the largest selection of imports, but I must warn those to be certain on the age of the products you buy and don't look here for recommendations

The service seems to be hit or miss here. I come here mostly for the growler station. They have 5 beers on tap at a time (the first time I came it was in the winter. they had Celebration Ale, Goose Island's, Sly Fox', Southampton's, and Blue Point's Winter beers). The selection at the growler station is some local big breweries (Southampton, Blue Point) as well as some smaller local breweries (Kelso of Brookyln, Climax). Most of the beers tend to be from the East Coast, but I do remember they did have Houblon Chouffe in the past few months.

The store is larger than other stores in the area and therefore have a better selection. One aisle is for imports and the other is for domestics. Nice line up of breweries like Stone, Victory, Allagash, Southampton, Weyerbacher, Stoudt's, Avery, etc. Two bottles that are harder to find that I found there recently were Captain Lawrence's St. Vincent dubbel and Sixpoint's Bolshoi. The import section is also very well stocked. The speed of which these bottles leave the shelves may be questionable. Whenever I am in there I am either the only person down the domestic craft aisle or the other person.

For service there are probably only two people that can help you. One is a middle-aged man named Stu who is usually on the phone dealing with distributors or customers. He will know the beer he has in store and what is coming in, but might not be helpful in selecting a beer. The other is a younger guy. He seems to be knowledgeable and should be able to help you in your selection

Took me a little while to write this, since I was last there a couple of weeks ago, but it's worth the trip. (I live just outside of Queens and work JUST in Suffolk, so it's a 10 mile trip north to go to Shoreline)

I've always enjoyed trying new/different beers - and sometimes, I'll head in there to give the guy a challenge. (Don't know his name, unfortunately.) He has yet to fail - I'll throw him a style and he'll show me a couple of examples of that style I may have overlooked. Best selection of imports on the island, never know what I'll find up there. Also, very impressive selection of domestics - found Avery Samael up there, and I don't know of anywhere else that has it.

For a lot of the beers I hear about nowadays (like Brooklyn/Schneider), the first thing I think is "I wonder if Shoreline would have that..."

Long story short - go. Even if they don't have what you want, guaranteed you'll find something else interesting.

(also, really small note on the review below mine - Stone's Vertical Epic for this year was released on 7/7/7, and the below post was on 7/5/7.) :-)

The largest selection on Long Island is right; this place has a huge array of beers from more countries than you probably realized brewer beer. Getting to it is not ideal; even from the Expressway it's a good 10-15 minutes north, usually through traffic. But it's worth the voyage, since there's such a variety.

The inside of the place looks like a small market, with three aisles of beer, beer, beer and some soda. Half an isle dedicated to cold brews. Overall the staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately they didn't have Stone's new Vertical Epic yet, but other than that the selection is top notch. One aisle is purely imports, and the next straight microbrews, all the best from the usual suspects. Prices are fairly competitive, too.

Overall, I'd recommend stopping in if you're in the area, or if you're looking for something a little on the obscure side.

These guys know a lot about beer and are very helpful without being "pushy" while you shop around and select your beer. All the beer is fresh, and the American and European sections are set up nicely.

Mix a Six?... No problem, the guy with the beard got me 2 empty 6 pack cartons and a basket to carry them in. The pretty young lady behind the counter told me that if I had any questions or needed help to let her know and she would get someone for me.

Great selection of American craft beer from all the big names in small breweries. European selection is also well stocked and organized by country. 5 beers on tap that change monthly, I like that they have 'mini-growlers' (12oz) so you don't have to commit to drinking 64oz of the same beer in a day or two. I didn't care for anything they had on tap, this trip, but I have bought a few 'minis' in the past.

I mixed my 2 sixers (12 ipa's from 12 brewers) and got 3 different Middle Ages bombers for just under $30, nice!

It's a 30 - 40 min trip from my house, but they have some beers that my local guy doesn't, so occasionally I make a 'run' here and I'm always glad I did.

when driving past, didnt seem like much to look at. once i got inside it got a little better. i didnt get the service i had expected. being new to the beer world, i dont know too much about what i was looking for but i went for the blue point. they didnt really help me find much else. their selection was pretty good, there was alot to choose from. maybe if i would have went in there with more knowlege about beer than i had went in there with, i would have been more pleased, but i was looking more for service and help with what i was buying. i went in there wanting to try something new but couldnt decide what to try so i went for what i knew i liked.

Knowing I was spending the weekend in Long Island, I looked up package stores in New York and found this one. Fairly easy to hop on and off of the LIE but directions from Yahoo were confusing. Should've gone with directions from the website. Very unassuming beer store on a main drag in Huntington. Entered the open chain link fence and thought, what's up with the security? After seeing what they've got, I think they should put barbed wire on the fence.

Excellent and wide ranging selection of brews from across the country and world with equal space devoted to six-packs and bombers. Mixed sixes are allowed. They even have tap beer for sale if you purchase the growler although I thought it was a bit pricey at almost $30, $27 for a refill. Space is limited but enough to get a shopping cart through, you just can't turn it around in the aisle. The biggest drawback I could see besides the cramped space was if you were looking for cold beer. Due to the limited space, most beers are on the shelves and not in the cooler. I did find some cold Blue Point, though.

Friendly service with a couple of pint glasses thrown in for free and a heads-up on a $20 Imperial Stout before charging me make this place worthy of a trip from several hours away.
