Middleton's is probably one of the best places to get a great brew in the far NW burbs. Billed as an "Irish Gastropub" it definitely has the usual staples of what'd you expect from that (eg Guinness/Harp, Irish Whiskeys, Beef Stew) but they also feature an extensive tap and bottle list . You will always find a plethora of local and midwest brews available ( Wild Onion, Emmetts, Half Acre, Revolution, FFF, Great Lakes, Dark Horse, Bells) in addition to popular staples from the likes of Dogfish Head, etc. The food is great here and not too overpriced. Dining on the patio is a nice treat. You can find live music here on weekends, usually acoustic which is nice. Also, they have beer dinners on occasion ( Lagunitas was the most recent one I remember seeing)

Stopped in here after learning the place (which had been a different restaurant/bar a little while ago before apparently going under) had been retooled. It's a quaint little local restaurant with a bar area on the right. It's got a sort of Bob Evans-style aesthetic, though with the emphasis on small town rather than farm. There are a few TVs, but nothing too obtrusive. The selection is pretty solid, usually with some good stuff from Lagunitas, DFH, Founders, Lost Abbey, New Belgium, and local Small Town. I wouldn't expect to find any rarities here, but there's usually plenty to enjoy. The bartenders are all pretty friendly and seem to know something about the beers, though they're hardly experts. The pricing is pretty good, the usual for these outer 'Burbs. I have yet to try any food, but that side has always smelled pretty good, so there's that. Overall, this place isn't really rave-worthy, but it is a pretty nice local option for some tasty brews and warm atmosphere.
