A small place in a small mountain town. Just about a baseball throw from Backcountry Brewery/Pizzaria, this is a German/Austrian influenced pub.
I was there for an Oktoberfest tap takeover, and went with a litre of Ayinger Oktoberfest for $11. But they had others--all German. Only about 6-7 taps, but a solid bottle list of Belgians and Germans...Austrian, too.

Food consists of sausages...from several critters. Deer, pheasant, pork. Very good.

Order at the register, which is sandwiched between the wall and another wall. Place seats about 30 people, but it overflows into the adjacent "trinket" shop. Long tables add to the German style. Small outdoor patio does a good job. A must hit in Frisco

I had stumbled upon a mention of Prost on the forums on beeradvocate, something to the effect it was the brewer at Backcountry’s favorite place for a beer. Sold. Then I realized they did an array of sausages. Sold.

However. My wife is not a German beer fan at all. On our drive up to Vail we had passed on stopping. On our way back to Denver nobody in our group was overly “passionate” that we need to stop. We were having a beer at Backcountry and I kind of talking them into stopping.

Prost was a homerun. It sits inside a souvenir/tourist crap shop/antique store. It has its own door but it is roped off instead of having a wall. Kind of odd but it works.

All German beer on-tap (and one Belgian). More beers in bottles, a nice mix of German and Belgian ales. Very good prices. A 24oz can of PBR for $3.

We split two sausages… both were bomb-ass great! Apple chicken was light and tasty as was the elk. The pretzels were amazing. We had to order a second. And the German potato salad was authentic! Loved the selection of mustards. Fair prices.

Our server/waitress/cook is the wife of the owner. She was fun, funny, attentive… a great host. A great face for the business. Kudos to her!

I have nothing but positives to say about this little whole in the wall. Prost!
