pours a dark amber, brownish color, like Coke. very modest head, no lacing. Not much on the nose. The taste is kind of flat. There are very slight hints of malt but that's it. I wouldn't call this a Scottish Ale at all.

look: Med dark brown. Modest tan head.
smell: The nose didn't open until it warmed a bit, then rich malt and bright fruit.
taste: Much like the nose though not as full and rich.
overall: nice brew. It was fairly nondescript out of the fridge but opened up as it warmed.

Pours a deep reddish brown, beautiful cream colored, two finger head, with small bubbles, good lacing and nice retention through the drink
Aroma was very faint , nut like with just a hint of yeast
Taste was really great, chocolate, with some hazelnut background, seemed to have some roasted, toasty malt in background. if I had not been told this was typical of the style, I would have thought this to be a porter
Mouthfeel was excellent, full smooth and finished dry with malt overtones.
Overall, I was not expecting this, I had not had a Scotch ale, nor any from this brewery. On tap this was a good choice. I would go again.

Pours a clear, dark amber/red color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, yeast, slight spice, hint of roasted malt, and alcohol. Fits the style of a Scottish Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, alcohol, slight spice, slight roasted malt, and yeast. Overall, a prototypical Scottish Ale.

I tried this beer on tap at the Strawn Brewing tap room. It is also available in kegs at a couple local growler shops. This is a very good representation of a Scottish ale with a clear, reddish hue. It is dry with low bitterness and very malt forward with a bit of a smokey flavor. Another solid offering by a new, up-and-coming brewery.
