Appearance: Very dark for the style, almost mahogany, with a lot of cloudy yeast particles in suspension; the modest head leaves some splashy lashing
Smell: Particularly fruity, with pear and stone fruit elements and just a hint of orange/pineapple
Taste: Very fruity flavors, too, with a bit of a tropical edge; just a bit piney, in the middle, with a somewhat sweet and fruity finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: I really like the flavor profile but it took me a while to get beyond my expectations; certainly a far cry from what one would expect from a DIPA these days

A: Pours a clear dark reddish copper in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass and some crimson red + amber highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy light beige head that reduces to a small thick patch, a medium sized medium thick patch, and the remainder of the surface of the beer is covered by a thin film along with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of herbal and pine hops along with some lighter aromas of slightly sweet toasted and roasted malts.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of toasted and roasted malts with a light amount of sweetness. That is overtaken by moderate to strong flavors of herbal and pine hops along with just a hint of citrus/grapefruit pith hops. Moderate amounts of bitterness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly sticky.
O: I enjoyed this one and it matched really well with some homemade pizza - with jalapeños, pineapple, and pepperoni. It was nice to have a DIPA with a slightly different hop profile - very light amounts citrus but much stronger herbal aromas/flavors.

My first stab at a Triple C ware.Pours into an impy nonic a clear deep orange infused copper color with a great looking full two finger lighter beige head atop that lasted for quite awhile.Aromas are lighter with sugary sweetness, nutty and even faint chocolate malts mixed in with piney/leafy hops.A nice fuller feel and not over carbonated.Flavors of piney and leafy hops go along with hefty sweetness and mild nuttiness, not a hop bomb by any means here. It's ok but the hop profile needs to be amped up a little bit to make this something to seek out...in my opinion.
