Packed full of hop flavor with a lighter malt body, this American IPA showcases Citra, Centennial and Chinook hops. Citrus, Grapefruit and Passionfruit dominate the nose and tongue in this hop bomb. Brewed on a limited basis because of short supply of it's namesake hops.

Appearance: a nice perfect clarity orange. With a finger of white head that slowly fades to nothing.

Smell: strong hop aroma. Citrus, floral, some herbal. The citrus is strongest

Taste: citrus, floraly, herbal hops. A nice pale malt background. Malts are there to balance and showcase hops

Mouthfeel: a good bitterness that is there but not over powering. Good medium body.

Overall: a pleasant and good drinking IPA. Well brewed and I would drink more if I got the chance more often

Pours into an impy nonic a dull peach-like color with a full one finger white head atop.Wow a big blast of grapefruit and pine in the nose wich is refreshing,a big hop driven "standard" IPA.A rush of sharp grapefruit and citric hops hits ya on the palate upfront, alot of grapefruit going on here, some sugary sweetness and a mild spicy note from the Chinooks in the finish, the hops are the main attraction here,Iam not even writing anything about the malt profile. This beer is vastly underrated in my opinon, this is one of the better hop profiled beers if not the best in this state,in my opinion...

Good flavorful IPA. Smell and taste is of a kind of burnt citrusy flavor. Very nice pungent citrusy smell. Hits the front of the mouth with nice citrusy hop taste and settles with a bit of bitterness in the back., More of a crispy clean feel that evens out after it settles. Nice offering from an up and coming Charlotte brewery.

Color is gold, some chill haze but basically clear with a 3/4" white head of both large and small bubbles. Aroma is upfront grassy citrus. Sweet floral, dank leaves, and fruit of tropical and citrus variety. Taste is brisk, dry, nicely bitter and flavorful. Fruity w/peach and tropical hints of mango and candied pineapple. Grassy and slightly earthy in flavor as well. Mouthfeel is slick-smooth, dry, and appropriately carbonated. Overall not bad. Nicely hopped.

This isn't that bad, but I think it was a bad can. Very little carbonation. I'm trying to get behind that, and I can this has potential for a good IPA if properly carbonated. I'll revisit this again.

Drinking local on this rainy day. Nice and hoppy. Great citrus. Mild bitterness. Recommended! Bottled 10/8

Murky chestnut sort of color with a beautifully thick, white head. Yeasty aromas at first, sort of homebrew-like, opening up over time to reveal grass, pungent citrus, peach, mango, and passion fruit. Hoppy flavor, more old-school feeling, with spicy pine, tea, lemon, grapefruit, lime, and not much malt. Not overwhelmingly hoppy, just pleasant so. Green, solidly bitter, some trailing spiciness, not super fruity. Medium bodied, sporting a little creaminess. Not bad. Citra seems to be doing the least out of the three "Cs" used here.

A: Pours a lightly hazy golden apricot in color with some moderate amounts of active visible carbonation slowly rising from the bottom of the glass and just a touch of orange highlights. The beer has a half finger tall foamy light beige head that reduces to a medium sized patch of large sudsy bubbles and a mottled very thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass.

S: Slightly heavier than moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, tropical/passionfruit, and pine hops over light caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of grainy and caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by slightly heavier than moderate flavors of hops - citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, tropical/passionfruit, and just a touch of pine.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.

O: Very enjoyable and underrated - I wish I came across this beer more often because I found it to be very easy to drink, almost sessionable with great flavors and aromas. This might be a beer that makes it into my fridge quite often this spring/summer.

Poured from a tallboy into a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, goldenrod coloring, with a foamy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of mango and orange, with a bready and caramel backbone. Flavors are caramel forward, with undertones of peppery hops, pine pitch, and a blend of tropical fruit characteristics. Orange, mango, and melon give a nice balance throughout the palate. Full bodied and smooth, with a roasted caramel and fruit aftertaste. The finish is smooth, slightly dry, with a bitter resin and pepper spiced hops linger. Good beer.

Thin pure white head, very even, hardly any larger bubbles, not much stickiness to the lacing, forms a wide sheet which slides down the glass side. The liquid is very cloudy, dark orange at the core and more yellow further out, even with the murkiness there’s a great deal of bubbles rising up. The nose is taut and piercing, very herbaceous and earthy, metallic notes, dried dark bread crusts, curious that it delivers more cocoa and dark chocolate than citrus accents, mild pine, hard to pick out much by way of fruit scents, kind of jabs at you. In the mouth not much changes, full-bodied and sort of foamy in texture with same emphasis on earth, metal, forest floor matter. The white grapefruit finds itself, muttering of dried flowers, still very little fruit, peach and apricot pit. Sour on the whole, not sure where balancing sweetness is supposed to come from, that cocoa and hard caramel isn’t doing it. Its weight is what carries it through the finish rather than breadth of flavors. A candidate for dinner table drinking rather than relaxing sipping on its own.

22oz Bomber

Just got this one in the mail yesterday, thanks a ton Wilson! A tip of the bottle fills the pint glass with a hazy apricot beer, glowing at the base and darker along the crown. The head is dense and pure white forming a respectable cap that sticks around for the remainder. Drink lines decorate the glass as the beer disappears.

Citrus pops in the nose. Bright orange and grapefruit with a dusting of sugar shows itself first followed closely by indistinct tropical notes, but mango for sure. I always get a touch of what seems to me like lactic sweetness from the use of Citra; 3C IPA is no different. The nose is mostly citric but there's an undercurrent of fresh cut grass in there as well. The malt base is a little crackery but mostly a blank canvas for the hop profile.

Citrus is even brighter in the flavor. Orange and grapefruit are both very distinct, and a touch sweet, with marmalade notes. A dash of apricot here and nectarine there, a squeeze of peppery mango, and a hint of that lactic sweetness, again. As those flavors progress and nearly fade on the swallow a surprisingly assertive buzzsaw of fresh cut grass assaults the tongue. There is not much of a noticeable malt base but the hop profile shows a lot of depth. Delicious!

The weight of this IPA runs the center of the spectrum but above average carbonation adds just enough frothiness to increase drinkability and make for a luxurious feel. I was surprised to find an assertive bitterness, especially in the back of the throat.

3C IPA is delicious. It's a vitamin c juicy, buzzsaw grassy, solidly bitter, and supremely easy to put away beverage. If this was available in Chicagoland it would be in my fridge pretty often. Thanks again, WIl! Send more ASAP!

Terrible can. But look past that and a surprisingly good IPA inside. Would like to do a side by side against Hop Drop. I'm a fan on the less malty IPAs, and this one comes across nicely on that spectrum. Not super sticky, but enough to have a solid mouth feel.
