A nice beer to start a session with, A dark amber red color, minimum foam creation with a thin layer.

The aroma has a very toffee malt scent, light caramel and subtle spicey hops, slightly fruity as well.

A good complex red, the toffee/caramel malt dominates with subtle yeast and hops in the back, woody, smoke and tobacco come out in subtle ways.

The feel was fresh, medium bodied with plenty of jazz.

Good stuff, but not worth a second round.

Ok head retention with a browed amber colour. Light caramel maltiness and oily hop in the aroma. Solid medium body with an even carbonation. Pungent hop bitterness right from the start, balancing caramel maltiness struggles to hold things together. Hints of coffee, chocolate and toasted grain comes to mind. This is close to a PNW style Amber Ale, malty yet with a heavy hand of hops.

Salem- Witch City Red

A- Clear amber red with a good mesys lacing head.
S- caramel malt and floral hops make up the nose of this one.
T- Floral, rose, hops with a touch of citrus and a good solid candy caramel malt base.
M- Slight bitter feeling up front with a smooth citric finish.

Overall- Good flavors that pop and mellow into a creamy sessionable beer.

I got a growler to finish up reading Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat. I felt a camaraderie with the paisanos as they drank Torrelli's wine and I finished up my growler. My camaraderie increased as the growler decreased.

Dark, rusty red color. White, one finger head. Good retention left a lacey mess in its wake.

Aroma is clean, oily hop over a toasted sweetness from the malt. I'm picking up some old coffee grounds which I'd guess is do to some minimal amount of chocolate or black malt.

Taste is dominated by a ghastly cloying, earthy tea-like, swampy Luden's cherry ick. Too much crystal? A bad hop choice? I dunno what that taste is or where it came from but it's nasty. Carbonation is nice and light just like a like it.

Witch City Red is an easy drinking well balanced beer. It pours a clear dark oak (red/brown) color with a creamy off white head on top. The foam dissolves slowly leaving quite a bit of lace on the sides of the glass.

The faint aroma is mainly malt. Some nutty notes are mixed in. Each sip of this smooth medium bodied beer begins with some sweet malt flavor. A hint of brown sugar is mixed in. Towards the end the hops kick in and give the beer a mild bitter finish. A malty flavor is left behind on the palate after each sip.

This is a great "everyday" beer. It goes great with dinner or when hanging out with friends.

Served as a medium amber colored beer with moderate white head.
Smell is notable for caramel with touch of bread-like malt.
Taste also present with lots of caramel notes with some lihgt hops at the finish.
A nice middle-of-the road beer with an easy drinking character.

Pours a clear dark red with two finger light-tan head, laces in rings.
Toasted malt aroma, mixed with a bit of a more roasted bread. Lightly hopped (floral), and a bit of toffee.
In the taste the hops come out more - citrus and floral. Caramel rounds out a nice malty taste.
Light-medium bodied session beer

A-A rusty red color. Small head that is barely a coherent establishment of foam. Light lacing rings.

S-Perfect balance. Lightly malty and lightly hoppy. Hops are a bit of citrus and a bit of pine. Malt is caramel and dough.

T-Liquified version of the nose. This beer preaches balance. Not intense but flavorful enough. Balance, balance, balance. Pretty subdued, considering that this awesome and broad style has some real ass-kickers.

M-Light and crisp like pretty much all of the Beer Works beers. Plenty of bubbles.

O/D-Like all of the Beer Works brews I tried, this one is meant for the masses. Doesn't want to be intense and that's okay. Very mediocre but still a decent drink. When compared to some of the more hop-infused takes on the Amber Ale style, this one really fails to imprint on my memory.

Again, had this at the Salem location.

Reddish amber when poured. The aroma was split between being citrusy and also a bit bready.

Light to medium body, more of a malty taste than a hop-monster. Hops were more apparent in the finish.

Decent beer, but there's more on the menu to sample. Pat
