This place is becoming a better and better craft beer destination every month. They are doing an outstanding job of getting in a great variety of styles, and I am super impressed by how many offerings they have from newer Chicago area breweries.

Some beers can be found in the cold case, but more are warm on the shelves. All of the beers are very well organized and displayed. Someone who cares is in charge of making the craft beer area look good.

Prices are very fair, and selection is amazingly good for the size of the store and it's location. Sure it's not Binny's but then again, it's not Binny's prices either and this place is never crowded or stressful.

The staff are super friendly and always pleasant to talk to. They are knowledgeable about beer too.

As has been said, this isn't the fanciest liquor store but it is still a damn good one. I visit at least once per week.

This liquor store has been around for years. It's always had that older, run down look, where you'd stop to get a handle of vodka, some lotto tickets, and a blunt wrap. I've always had an affinity for stores like these, I used to buy candy from them when I was a kid, and grew up around a handful of neighborhood spots like this. Your typical booze run the aisles as you walk from door to beer. The beer is at the side of the store with a floor length aisle of warm beer, about 1/3 bombers and 2/3 sixers. Facing that shelving is a row of coolers, same length. Macro at one end and working to craft toward the front of the store.

Theres is a nice focus on craft here; Three Floyds seasonals, Pipeworks, Revolution, Firestone special releases, Allagash, Maine, etc. The more hop forward bombers are kept in a cooler at the front of the beer aisle. The focus is on seasonal releases but there is a decent amount of standard sixers as well. The selection is well thought out and updated often on Beermenus. The beer guy seems to know not only beer but some of the craft spirits as well. Easy going guy.

This isn't the fanciest liquor store you'll ever see nor does it have the largest selection but it does have bottles that fly off the shelves at other shops, good prices, and laid back people. That's all I'm ever really looking for when I'm buying beer.

I visit TJ at S&A every week to see what interesting things he has. Him and his partners took over S&A about a year ago now after the passing of their friend and they are carving out a nice niche in the area. At first glance you don't expect too much but you walk down the beer aisle and they have a lot to offer. You'll find a lot of beers from Southern Tier, Great Lakes, Goose Island, Clown Shoes, Founders, Stone, Bells and many more.

If you're looking for something in particular or maybe just a suggestion talk to TJ. He likes talking beer and amazingly, he remembers your name every time. You can call in and they'll hold beers for you.

Somewhat limited on fridge space but they have their big sellers in there, the rest is all shelf stored.

I recently went in there for BCS and they were selling $21 for 4-pack, individual bottles for $6; not bad when the place down the street was selling $32 4-pack, $8.99 for individuals.
